Traffic is at a standstill at the border as South African taxi operators protest the delay by Zimbabwens authorities to delay re-opening the borders due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
South Africa is currently battling it’s a deadly strain of the virus.
The taxi operators have blocked all traffic, mainly trucks from getting into Zimbabwe or leaving Zimbabwe.
Protesters are claiming that the move not to. Reopen the borders has affected their livelihoods. Zimbabwe is South Africa’s largest trading partner, and Zimbabweans contributea a significant chunk to South Africa’s economy.
