With the current Zimbabwean economy its not surprising if someone goes more than a year without spoiling themselves on some goodies like cake. Most people are barely making ends meet and are afraid to break the budget. This was made very clear in the viral twitter post that got people talking about their heartbreaking financial struggles in Zimbabwe.
Now, we bring you a very simple 3 ingredient cake recipe that won’t throw you out of budget. Spoil yourself once in a while.
The cake will come out very light and airy.
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
Direction:
This cake has a simple 2 step process in making it.
STEP 1: Beat the eggs together with the sugar until mixture turns frothy. This will require you to beat the mixture for 8 plus minutes. The eggs will turn from yellow to white. Below is a picture of what the mixture should look like:
STEP 2: When you have achieved the above mixture, start to slowly add in the flour. Gently fold in the flour into the mixture. For better results you can sprinkle the flour bit by bit with your hands. This ensure that you don’t let out the air in the egg mixture.
Pour the cake mixture in your baking pan and bake until done.
To check if its done you can prick the cake with a toothpick or fork. If it comes out clean then your cake is ready.
Decorate it however you like.
