The post Econet Wireless Smart USD Bundle Users Cry Foul appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>The most attractive bundle on offer is the US$10 for 10GB which works out to be much more affordable compared to their cheapest rtgs Private Wifi bundle priced at ZWL $4 320.
However, people have cried foul on Twitter firstly saying that the bundle stops working at a 2GB remaining balance. According to an Econet Wireless representative on Twitter, the 10GB bundle is divided into two, 8GB of it is “peak data” and the remaining 2GB is “off-peak data”. This means 8GB can be used any time of the day and 2GB of it can only be used at night.
Remember when people wondered what the catch in the whole deal was? This was the catch. Econet subscribers have asked why they were not well educated about the peak and off-peak conditions from the onset and they are wondering why there has to be rules on the usage of data they have bought with their own money.
Hi @ChasiNgodo, kindly note the Smart USD bundle 10GB comprises of 8GB peak data which is usable any time of day and 2GB off-peak data which is usable between 2300hrs and 0400hrs. ^YVN

I am left with 1.8 gig off peak bundles but from 10pm last night up to this morning the network was completely dead , please remove this off peak thing and allow me to use my data until I finish it at my times .
— Donald Sirewu (@DonaldSirewu) April 29, 2022
Another common outcry is how the bundles deplete very fast only lasting days for some. Many people express that this does not make sense because the 8GB Private Wifi bundle would last them a month. What could be going on? Is the 10GB not really 10GB? Below are some of the complaints lodged by Econet Wireless users.
I think we all need to agree that the new Econet SmartUSD bundle is a complete scam! Same phone, same apps, same browsing behavior, I would use the 8G e-learning bundle for a whole month, but with this new bundle, its just 3days? ]]>Obert Karombe was dubbed one of the richest men in Zimbabwe and he was popularly referred to as a âmbingaâ. He died in a car crash along Beatrice Road and since then there has been a lot that has been said on social media from his dating life characterized by multiple beautiful women to a woman claiming that Karombe killed her brother 10 years ago.
Perhaps the most recent shocking development in his funeral proceedings is the fact that Karombe was buried on Thursday night. It’s not common in Zimbabwe for people to bury at night. Most of the time, the ceremony and burial are done before noon.
People were reminded of stories in African movies when they watched the drama between Karombeâs women on social media then the coffin shaped like a Rolls Royce was unveiled. The night burial sealed the deal further cementing the speculations that the late mbinga could have been part of a billionaireâs club or brotherhood.

]]>According to this yearâs report, the âBig 5â of private wealth are South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Morroco, and Kenya as they hold over 50% of the continent’s wealth. The total value of private wealth held in Africa is US$2.1 trillion and is expected to rise by 38% over the next 10 years.
Andrew Amoils, Head of Research at New World Wealth, explains that private wealth refers to all an individualâs net assets (property, cash, equities, and business interests) less any liabilities. He says;
âAfrica is home to some of the worldâs fastest-growing markets, including Rwanda, Uganda, and Mauritius. We forecast private wealth growth of over 60% in all three countries in the next decade, driven by especially strong performance in the technology and professional services sectors.â
There are currently 136,000 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) with a private wealth of US$1 million or more living in Africa, along with 305 centi-millionaires worth US$100 million or more, and 21 US dollar billionaires.
Despite a tough past decade, South Africa is still home to over twice as many HNWIs as any other African country, while Egypt now has the most billionaires. Mauritius has the highest wealth per capita (average wealth per person) in Africa, at USD 34,500, followed by South Africa at USD 10,970 and Namibia at USD 9,320.
The report has shown Mauritius to be the fastest-growing wealth market in Africa, with projected growth of 80% over the next decade. This will also make it one of the fastest-growing high-income markets in the world over this period (in percentage growth terms), together with Australia, Malta, New Zealand, and Switzerland. By 2031, HNWI numbers in Mauritius are expected to reach over 8,000.
Zimbabwe is not mentioned anywhere in the report and it is understandable as the economy is currently very unstable and the majority of Zimbabweans live in poverty.

No matter how broke you are, Reject offers that comes with disrespect.
For 10 years today is my first day to sleep easy.
The one that ordered the hit is the killer the one that pulled the trigger is the one who took the order which makes the one who ordered the hit a killer.
If you watched Senzo Meyiwa âs documentary then you can understand what I am saying when I said people knew about the murder but chose to keep quite .My brother died in the hands of this who he trusted
Everyone involved in the death of my brother never died from natural causes what a coincidence. If you were involved you are nextâ
South African Based Zimbabwean artist Nox posted a farewell message in honour of Obert Karombe and Jestinah did not hesitate to comment under that either further cementing her feelings towards Karombeâs passing. Nox posted;

The death of Obert Karombe has been surrounded by a lot of drama and controversy. Firstly it is reported that he had a wife and children yet he had announced that he was recently engaged to a socialite known as âAfrican Goddessâ on Instagram. African Goddess has since deleted her account.
Karombe was involved in the accident with another woman who was neither his wife nor fiancĂ© and the woman boldly called him her boyfriend in a live video where she wanted to notify her Instagram followers that she was still alive. She went on to express that she was worried she wouldnât be able to attend her birthday bash despite having recently had her ear sewn back on because it was shaved off during the accident and being due for surgery to correct her legs.

3/3 4x African Banana Super Power, Viagra 007, Masushita BBSM Coffee Sachet, 8x Intalis 02, and Sweet A drugs. #notocriminalactsâ
Many people defended the suspects in the comment saying that the supplements and pills do not harm users and that the police should focus on solving bigger crimes.
Performance enhancement pills, creams and supplements are popular all over the world. Even in movies, characters make jest of situations where people try them and they overperform. People buy these medicines and supplements from dodgy online stores, or street corners with hopes of boosting various aspects of their intimate lives.
Many of these pills and supplements are smuggled into Zimbabwe and people sell them promising the users bigger genitalia or increased stamina. The fact that the drugs and supplements are not registered means that they are probably not tested and their safety is not guaranteed thus the need for regulation and in this case, arrest.

]]>Many people in Zimbabwe rely on Open View decoders for good content. They buy it once and they do not pay any subscription to keep it connected. This contravenes customs, trademark and copyright laws.
Raids and seizures are set to continue across the SADC region as they clamp down on content piracy. The Open View decoders air shows made by the SABC and eMedia in South Africa. The content made on the shows is intended for South African viewers and anyone else from outside South Africa that uses them is committing a crime.
The COO of Openview parent company eMedia Antonio Lee has applauded the ZRP saying that Zimbabweans should support local content and stop buying South African decoders. He said that anyone that purchases the Open View decoder in Zimbabwe is robbing the country of customs duty.
Further raids and investigations can be expected as 1094 records of Open View serial numbers were also confiscated during the raids. Lee also said that having the decoder in your home means you can also be arrested at any time as it is considered a serious offence.
Lee also said smuggled decoders will be disconnected from now on and people stand to run a loss if they buy illegal decoders and they are disconnected because of the criminal act.

]]>In Harare, two people were killed on the spot and three injured when a Honda Fit was ravaged by an oncoming train at a railway crossing along Chiremba Road in Hillside. The railway crossing has traffic lights which unfortunately have not been working for several years.
In Bulawayo, six people were killed on the spot and eight others hospitalized when a combi and a haulage truck collided at the intersection of Khami Road and Masiyephambili, close to the Nkulumane Complex. The combi rolled over several times and landed on the roof.
Both these accidents involve illegal forms of transport; the mshikashika (small cars used to ferry passengers at a fee) and the unlicensed combi. The government has been making efforts to ban unlicensed commuters on the road and encouraging people to use licensed ZUPCO vehicles.
However, there is a huge demand for transport and people often favour using unlicensed (go fast) transporters than waiting in long queues to secure a seat on a ZUPCO vehicle.

]]>The post Elon Musk Buys Twitter For 44 Billion Dollars. What Next? appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>This deal means that the worldâs richest person will own the worldâs most influential social media platform. So what changes can we expect to see on Twitter?
Relaxing the rules to promote free speech
Musk, a free-speech âabsolutistâ, has criticized Twitterâs moderation and that is what first led him to buy a substantial chunk of the company in the first place. He wants Twitter’s algorithm for prioritizing tweets to be public and objects to giving too much power on the service to corporations that advertise.
Upon announcing the purchase Musk said, âfree speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated.” He also argued in a Ted talk that comments that are offensive but legal should not be removed on the social media platform.
A huge fear with Muskâs approach is that it will give license to harassers, trolls and others who abuse the platform to target people. Twitter currently bans harassment, abuse and posts that wish physical harm to someone. Relaxing the rules exposes the platform to people looking to exploit it by spreading misinformation, or flat-out lies, about political events, government officials and matters related to public health and safety.
The ever-requested edit button
Twitter users have been for the longest time requesting an edit button. Other social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram allow people to edit their posts yet on Twitter, once one posts they cannot change it.
This tends to be frustrating because it means that if one wants to change anything they would have to delete the whole post and repost the edited version they want.
Musk has said he supports letting people change what their tweets say, a proposal that has stirred a heated debate among academics, journalists and other heavy users of the platform.
Although this might be a great idea, the adjustment could be weaponized by bad actors, who could use it to cover up abuse or harassment as if it never happened or to dupe or manipulate people. Yet Facebook and other social media platforms with the feature are functioning well and perhaps safeguards could be put in place like allowing people to see the unedited version.
Opening up the algorithm to the public
Musk believes that the software that determines what people are allowed to see should be cracked open. He supports placing Twitter’s algorithm on GitHub, a site popular with programmers for sharing computer code.
This sounds like a lot of chaos waiting to take place because Twitter processes billions of pieces of content every day and so far people view tweets according to their preferences, who they follow, where they stay and so on. Experts worry that Twitter is so dense and complex that the company’s own software engineers can be perplexed trying to understand its logic.
Get rid of advertisements
As Twitter goes private, it will no longer be under the same pressure from shareholders to grow advertising revenue. Although 90 per cent of Twitterâs revenue is made from advertising, they have not successfully managed to get many advertisers on the platform.
Musk has said it should move to a subscription model. Twitter has already taken some steps in that direction with the introduction last year of Twitter Blue, a premium service that cost $2.99 a month for additional features, like an undo button that allows for tweets to be recalled before they are sent.
Musk has said Twitter Blue should be cheaper, that if people are paying, they shouldn’t have to see advertisements and that the cryptocurrency that started as a joke, Dogecoin, should be an acceptable form of payment for a Twitter subscription.
Many people are on edge about the changes that will take place under the ownership of Elon Musk. Although he has shared some views that allow us to determine some of the changes, the practical implementation of these things will only be seen when they start to happen.

An enumerator in ward 41 was biten by dogs.

With all these challenges in mind maybe there should have been more efforts made by the government in educating people fully on what a census is and the purpose of recording the data they need. People could have possibly confused census people with political party people and that could also explain the violence. The exercise has clashed with the pre-election campaigns and possibly left some ignorant people feeling paranoid.

]]>The Guinness World Records recognised Ms Tanaka as the oldest person alive in 2019. In 2020 she became the oldest person in Japan at 117 and 261 days old.
Kane Tanaka enjoyed board games, solving maths problems, soda and chocolate. She married Hideo Tanaka a century ago in 1922 and they had four children and adopted a fifth.
Ms Tanaka’s daily routine was described at the time as including a 6:00 am wake-up, and afternoons spent studying mathematics and practising calligraphy.
Japan has the world’s most elderly population, according to World Bank data, with around 28 per cent aged 65 or over.
Most times it is difficult to document old people because many of them do not remember the year they were born and their births were not documented. So it wouldn’t be shocking to learn that there are people that are older than the late Kane Tanaka. In Zimbabwe, we have many old people but they mostly live in the rural areas
