Such a tragic ending came upon a Highlands Primary School child. Parents are now collaborating to ensure that their cries for the safety of their children are heard.
Friday 7 September 2021 was such a sad day for 11 year old Ceejay Maodzwa and his family. The boy was on his way to Highlands Primary School when he was hit by a car and died on the spot.
The driver allegedly made no attempt to stop the vehicle when he saw Ceejay crossing. He is said to have continued speeding and hooting.
Parents have since called upon authorities to do something about the reckless driving that is said to be a very common occurrence at this intersection that is near a school.
The following statement was released:

These occurrences are said to be common in the country. Very little has been done or said to address this pressing issue. Drivers all over the nation are said to not take much consideration of Zebra crossings and since traffic lights are not always functional, this worsens the reckless driving situation.
