Word on the streets is that someone has imported the Ferrari F8 Tributo sports car into Zimbabwe. The Ferrari was posted on the Zimcelebs Instagram page with the caption
“A Ferrari F8 Tributo arrived last night in Harare… Another Harare mbinga (rich person) to flex on these streets”
True to zimbo nature, people took the opportunity to express their disgust at the thought that someone would import such an expensive car in such a struggling economy.
The 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo is one of the best sports cars in the world and it doesn’t come cheap. The MSRP is US $270,530 in basic trim, with most customers adding tens of thousands of dollars of upgrades. This means that the importer probably paid duties worth north of US $400,000 depending on the purchase price of the car and transport method used.
Although Zimbabwe has a struggling economy, more and more rich Zimbabweans have been seen buying and driving expensive luxury supercars in recent years. It would be interesting to see who will drive the car on our streets. Who do you think it will be?
