The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Nelson Chamisa was about to make a huge move for his party. Unfortunately, he might not be able to anymore.
Following Morgan Tsvangirai’s passing, MDC split into several MDCs. Some have suggested that some of the MDC factions were created as a move to confuse voters and spread out the votes to reduce the chances of Chamisa gaining many votes. This is the approach commonly known as divide and concur.
Whether or not the above claims are true is not certain, however, Nelson Chamisa had decided to change his party’s name. Voters would be less confused as to which MDC they were voting for. However, that move has hit a huge obstacle. The name Citizens Convergence for Change ( CCC) seems to have been taken all along.

While this information is being verified further its no surprise that Chamisa supporters are very sceptical of this information. The general sentiment on this from Chamisa supporters was, “mazopererwa manje” which suggests that they think this is the doing of ruling party, Zanu PF.
Perhaps Chamisa will focus on trying to get the youths together as he has been encouraging. This comes after the youths in Zambia are said to have been instrumental in Hakainde Hichilema’s victory.
