What was supposed to be the most memorable day of these newlyweds lives turned out to be the most humiliating day. A bride and her groom spent their first honeymoon night basking in the glory of the Stadium. They also got to spent this breathtaking evening confined with the rest of their wedding guests.
No, this definitely was not the romantic evening any bride would want but this is exactly what happens when one violates Covid-19 regulations. This Rwandese couple went against Covid-19 regulations and invited more than the stipulated number of guests. This led to Rwandan police storming into the wedding and arresting every single person that was present. Instead of taking them to the police station the police saw it fit to let them spend the night social distanced in a stadium.
The bride expressed her misery and embarrassment of this occasion adding that the government should not make people adhere to Covid-19 regulations by subjecting them to pain. The Rwandan National Police Spokesperson, CP John Bosco stated that they do not regret subjecting offenders to such punishment.
Covid is no joke and perhaps this highlights the gravity of disregarding regulations set by our respective governments concerning the Covid-19 situation.
