Schools have for the longest time been viewed as places where one goes to get themselves crammed with information all day. As a result, many students are generally not enthusiastic about going to school. Some schools have found creative ways to get students more excited about going to school.
A school called Hoerskool Witterburg has a non-backpack day in which students are allowed to use anything other than a school backpack. Itās fascinating what some of the students chose as their ābagsā for the day.
People in the education system can learn a lot form this simple activity/exercise. Such activities help students think out of the box. Sometimes itās not so much about what you teach but how you teach it. There are many ways to convey information and the limitations are determined by our mindsets. This shows that school can also be a fun and exciting place.
In Zimbabwe, many parents prefer to take their children to private colleges and mission schools. Government schools are often associated with teacherās strikes, low pass rates, and less resources. Activities like these that challenge students to think differently can make school an exciting place to be at little to no cost.
