A Zimbabwean artist has been hot on the social media streets lately. His work has managed to catch the attention of international celebrities. The surprising thing is, he is only 19.
Nyasha “Hulio” Warmbwa started his career in art about a year ago. The lockdown sure did encourage people to try out new things. Fortunately, Hulio’s work quickly turned into a paying passion. Two of his paintings have already sold for slightly over US$3000.
He has been recognised by artists such as American rapper Lil Wayne and his work was shared on Lil Wayne’s Young Money social media pages. Hip Hop artist Drake’s attention was also grabbed by the artist’s work. He even followed our boy Hulio on Instagram.
It didn’t stop there, Drake recently shared Hulio’s work on his page and it has thus far accumulated 2 million likes.
View as Hulio shares his excitement:

Another Zimbabwean that is currently making it in the creative industry is the female who made it on America’s Today Show.
