]]>For those who are not familiar with the term, Ivy League refers to a group of schools namely Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Princeton, Dartmouth, Yale, and Columbia universities and the University of Pennsylvania. Of all institutions of higher learning, these elite schools are considered to be the most outstanding and the most sought-after in terms of acceptance and graduation.
Makanaka Nyandoro, an Upper student from Arundel School has been accepted at Harvard, Princeton, The University of Pennsylvania and Stanford University. The University of Pennsylvania has also selected her for the Benjamin Franklin Scholarship Programme awarded to a handful of first-year students.
Makanaka was one of Arundel School’s top students from Form 4. She distinguished herself in the school’s cultural life as the Debate Captain, and in sports as the Squash Captain. She earned the academic blazer in Form 4 and had the top results with 5 A*s at A-Level.
Makanaka wishes to study Humanities, specializing in English/History. She believes her future is in Academia.
