]]>National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed and said investigations were in progress.
“The ZRP is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 32-year- old woman whose body was found lying in a maize field in Get Bucks area, Waterfalls with some bruises on the knees and a cut on the nose. A Huawei cell-phone and a plastic bag containing $210 and US$1 cash were found on the scene,” he said.
This comes barely a week after a 31-year-old woman was shot during an armed robbery in Waterfalls. The woman was trying to defend an older woman when the armed robber shot her in the head. Only US$60 and cellphones were stolen. Recently a Murehwa man killed his daughter to avoid paying maintenance worth US$30.
There have been reports that seven people lost over US$17 000 cash, cars and property worth over US$9 000 and R248 000 to armed robbers who ambushed them in separate incidents countrywide.
These incidents include; a house robbery in Chitungwiza which involved 2 men armed with a black pistol and iron bar, a car robbery in Norton, a car robbery on the Masvingo-Beitbridge road, a mushikashika robbery along Chiremba Rd in Harare.
This is a lot of crime in one week considering these are just the cases that made it on the news. A concerning element is the increasing use of guns. When Prophet Magaya’s house was searched, other houses were searched and a man named Ashref Kara was arrested for being in possession of four guns in Avondale West.
The criminal activity in Zimbabwe is really concerning. Could it be the bad economic situation? Surely we would have experienced the same in 2008? There is also a rise in drug abuse and everyone knows where there are drugs there is also terrible criminal activity.

]]>According to Dandaro Online, a man has won big in Chitungwiza after winning 27k USD in a soccer bet.

The Tweet comes complete with a receipt that looks legit with Cashier details, time of bet and signatures. So why isn’t the news flooding the streets?
The man probably doesn’t want to be known for obvious reasons. One minute you’re on the front page for winning the lotto and the next minute you have friends, neighbours and family asking for a piece of the money.

According to the receipts, the man bet a dollar at MWOS (a sports betting company). The whole idea looks too good to be true but hey, who can dispute receipts and signatures?

]]>The famous American singer Trey Songz recently took to twitter to greet his hometown folks. A short tweet saying “Chitown what up” got Zimbabweans rushing to his page in no time.

Chitungwiza dwellers were quick to reply and share their laments with the newly discovered homeboy. Of course, we all know he meant the Chitown of USA, Chicago. That understanding didn’t stop Chitungwiza residents from replying anyways.
The responses will have you rolling on the floor.

At least we’ve got this on record, before Trey Songz decides to delete his tweet like Steve Harvey did after Zimbabweans went crazy in the comments on his Victoria Falls post.
Any thoughts?
