]]> Botswana has made a significant discovery in the field of precious stones. A diamond has been found and it’s not just any ordinary diamond. This particular one has made headlines because it is being counted amongst the largest diamonds in the world.

The Debswana large diamond was presented to President Masisi and the cabinet today. This diamond was discovered on the 1st of June 2021.

The largest diamond in the world is reported to be the Cullian diamond. As revealed by The History Channel, this diamond was 3,106-carat in its uncut state. This diamond was discovered in the Premier Mine in South Africa.

Premier Mine was also responsible for producing another one of the world’s largest diamonds known as the Golden Jubilee Diamond. The Golden Jubilee is 755.50 carat.

Botswana’s recently discovered, Debswana diamond has 1,098.30 carats.

This is not the first time Botswana has discovered one of the largest diamonds in the world. In 2019 at Botswana’s Karowe Mine, the world’s second largest diamond was discovered. So the Debswana diamond is yet another victory for Botswana.
