The two UZ students were Natasha Gamuchirai Chari(23) and Gertrude Glenara(21). They were delivering drugs in their silver Honda Fit to the Netone Building in central Harare. Unfortunately for them, the CID had been tipped off so upon their arrival the detectives zoned in on the vehicle.

This lead to a high speed chase that drew much attention. The duo was finally stopped at the intersection of Samora Machel and Rekai Tangwena Streets. They were found in possession of four sachets of crystal methamphetamine and 108 grams of cannabis. The value of the drugs is said to amount to  Z$1,779,905.

Zimbabweans were quick to comment on the incident and express their frustration over having felt pressure to be like the socialites without knowing the dirty work going on behind the scenes. Gamu often boasted of her hard work as shown in the post below. This lead people to wonder why their hard work didn’t pay off as well as her’s.

Some people have suggested that they might receive the same treatment as Henrietta Rushwaya who was caught in alleged gold smuggling activities and got away with it.
