This move of privatizing the school lead to the government withdrawing 40 of their teachers therefore students are currently not learning. The angry parents and community residents blamed former Odar Housing Development Consortium (OHDC) administrators for registering the school as a private school. They stated that this decision was made without their knowledge.

The parents claim that this was a fraudulent move as they were responsible for building the school with their monies. However, Ministry spokesperson Taungana Ndoro has stated that if they are unable to provide documentation proving that the school belongs to the them nothing could be done. He added:

“Those who registered the school are the responsible authority and the ministry cannot resolve that dispute. If there is a case, aggrieved parties can take the legal route.”

The parents and community were caught on video protesting over this.
