Abraham the servant of God has in his latest prophecy said that journalist Hopewell Chin’ono is more righteous than a popular young prophet, there is no price for guessing who is being referred to here.

Abraham the servant of God who has in the past made accurate prophecies about events in the nation and abroad including the death of Prophet TB Joshua was giving prophecies for Zimbabwe for the year 2022 on his YouTube Channel.

In a 5 minute clip (above) he further advised the young Prophet to leave the country otherwise it will not end well for him.

Who do you think he is referring to here?

The Zimbabwean journalist Hopewell Chin’ono is at it again! This time he is firing shots at Zimbabweans who complain about Econet services as if they were forced to utilise it. This is not the first time he had something controversial to say with regards to Econet. View his previous statement here.
We are certain that this won’t be the last time he chides ‘stupid’ Zimbabweans as he did in the video we shared here.
See what he’s got to say this time:
Hopewell Chin’ono
When I posted a London Times article saying that Zimbabwean businessman and philanthropist, Strive Masiyiwa, had become the first black billionaire living in Britain to make it into the iconic The Sunday Times Rich list, there was the usual dark and unrestrained vitriol against him.
They hate Strive Masiyiwa who hasn’t forced anyone of us to use his mobile phone service, yet they love crooks that they have christened MBINGA, crooks that steal their tax money through corrupt and looting scams hand in glove with ZANUPF elites.
At least Strive Masiyiwa doesn’t force us to use his mobile phone service, we have a choice to select from, there is also NetOne and Telecel Zimbabwe.
Why aren’t we going there if we feel so angry with Stive Masiyiwa?
It because most of this anger is rooted in ignorance and raw jealousy of not wanting to see one of us make it, yet we are happy to applaud crooks.
Some his company Econet sold sim cards for US$100 per card, and they also blame Strive Masiyiwa and Econet for that, oblivious to the laws of Economics.
That shows a tragic misunderstanding of the economy and how it works, a further act proof that we are not as educated as we would want the world to believe.
It is the ZANUPF Government that screwed up the economy not Strive Masiyiwa or Econet.
Common sense should make you ask one question, when Econet cards were sold for US$100, how much were Telecel and Netone sim cards selling for?
There is something from the terribly wrong with our education system bakhiti, it has brought out half backed citizens!
Some complain about Econet prices, have they ever heard of Potraz which is responsible for pricing and is run by a former CIO director on behalf of the Government of Zimbabwe?
Don’t you know that Potraz even came down hard on Econet Zimbabwe for lower prices, and on Netone too for similar competitive pricing?
We always bark at the wrong tree, and we always misdirect our unstrained anger at the wrong people!
Potraz is the telecommunications regulator that presides over the telecommunication industry, and not Strive Masiyiwa.
Your money from high fuel prices to steep data prices is taken by Government of Zimbabwe high taxes because your government has failed to create a healthy tax base because of incompetence, looting, corruption, plunder and many other such ills!
So the Government of Zimbabwe charges huge taxes to the few big businesses that are in existence like Econet.
That is why we are encouraging you to #RegisterToVoteZW to change that sad uneconomic reality!
A clever person will calculate how much Strive is getting out of every dollar you pay towards Econet data or phone calls, and how much money your government is taking!
Strive Masiyiwa’s prices are not high, you just don’t have the money to buy his products because you have no job to go to, or you are underpaid in your current job.
Econet Zimbabwe is a business, not a charity or church organization which dishes out money like confetti for free!
Deal with the reasons why you don’t have money, instead of expecting another man to take State created losses on your behalf!
You don’t have enough money because the economy is crap;
Is it Strive Masiyiwa who is refusing to implement political and economic reforms so that the economy can be kickstarted again?
Is it Strive who is looting your taxes and plundering your nation’s natural resources leaving you with nothing meaningful in your pocket?
Why were things ok between you and Econet during the years of 2009 and 2013?
It is called Economics folks, it has nothing to do with Strive Masiyiwa’s companies, they are also victims of an incompetent Government.
Is it fair for me to insult my new father in-law because I have failed to pay dowry for my wife simply because I don’t have a job or I earn peanuts like most Zimbabeans do?
This is where we should apply critical thinking!
Strive Masiyiwa’s Econet has to borrow huge loans internationally at higher repayment costs because Zimbabwe is a bad debtor, and politically a pariah state!
This is why we keep telling you that Zimbabwe is badly run, the government has failed you not Strive Masiyiwa!
He pays your doctors and nurses’ salaries when he doesn’t have to, he sorts out your cholera outbreaks when he doesn’t have to, he gives scholarships to your brightest minds through Higherlife Foundation when he doesn’t have to!
He has kept thousands of Zimbabweans in work and pays the most taxes in Zimbabwe which are looted by your government, yet you are ok with your MBINGAs who are looting those taxes and shamelessly parading sports cars?
You are paying for the behavior of an incompetent and corrupt government!
Leave Strive Masiyiwa alone, if you don’t like his service, go to Netone or Telecel, nobody has been forced to stay with Econet!
Strive pays millions of dollars in license fees to the Zimbabwean Government, yet Netone and Telecel don’t pay those fees.
He has expanded the Econet coverage across the country using borrowed money, loans that must be paid back in US Dollars, yet we pay for Econet’s service in a useless untradeable RTGS currency, and the Government can’t give him US Dollars in exchange in order to pay repay the loans which have made it possible for you to get better coverage
Is that not the reason why you stay with Econet, good coverage?
You stay with his company because it is the better out of the three, and he has been able to stay afloat in difficult times regardless of the terrible operating conditions!
Give the brother a break!
Some Zimbabweans have a warped mentality of wanting Econet to be ok, and Harare City Council to be ok yet they forget that these entities are operating in a terrible economy!
You can’t expect an island of excellence and normalcy in a sea of mediocrity, corruption, looting, plunder, incompetence, and the list goes on.
Some say South African MTN South Africa must come and give Econet competition, no decent foreign company will come to operate in a country where it can’t repatriate its profits, in a country which has a fixed foreign exchange rate and in a country without the rule of law!
If you fix your politics, the economy will be fixed too.
But how will that happen when you openly declare with a smile that you won’t vote?
You are the problem not Strive Masiyiwa!!!
You must first understand who is responsible for mobile phone pricing in Zimbabwe, and you also need to understand how much of that money goes to Strive Masiyiwa’s Econet, the lastly how much is going to Government, and how it is being used!
Reserve your anger for the right people! Things are bad because Zimbabwe has a bad and incompetent Government in place!
Strive Masiyiwa didn’t do anything unique between 2009 and 2013, Tendai Biti simply fixed the economic fundamentals and things started working well that is why the price of the simcard went down from US$100 to US50 cents.
When you say ED Pfeee as some of you continue to do, embrace the consequences too of wanting a clueless government, and a corrupt group of people in power!
To those who say they don’t do politics, this is what we mean when we say if you don’t to politics, politics will do you!!!

You might have missed this one. Hopewell Chin’ono controversial Zimbabwean journalist, shared some of his thoughts on the money mindset of a large number of black Zimbabweans.

By Hopewell Chin’ono

I posted a picture earlier on and some people suggested that I should replace the green sofa chairs.

I then realized that it was actually a teaching moment, a voluntary one i should add.

These sofa chairs are in my entrance hallway, and the other one is in my sun lounge.

They are dear to me because I bought them in 2003 from a friend who mentored me, Dr Eliah Munyikwa who unfortunately passed away some years back.

He sold them to me when he was leaving for the U.S. where he worked as a doctor in Maryland.

They hold sentimental value to me, but that is not the teaching moment.

The teaching is on how WE black Zimbabweans are fervent consumers, we love to spend our money on dead products instead of productive pursuits.

Let us assume that these sofa chairs didn’t hold sentimental value to me, and that they were actually in my main lounge.

Tell me why I would need to change them and spend US$5000 on another set of sofas when the green ones are still as ok as they are?

Let us say I changed them in 2010 after 7 years of having them in my main lounge, the alternative would have been to buy US$5000 worth of shares on the London Stock Exchange.

In fact that is what an astute white Zimbabwean or astute black Zimbabwean would have done.
White Zimbabweans understood this decades ago.

Blacks are still investing money in fancy sofas, big TVs and cars whilst whites still drive their Mazda 626s, but leaving million dollar estates to their grand children.

In other words, they are creating generational wealth which underpins their businesses that we see on the right side of Harare drive whilst at times we build mansions using borrowed or looted money.

We have black people who understand this very well, and they should be looked up to especially by the young ones.

Philip Mataranyika who owns the Nyaradzo Group of companies invited me to his family home in Westgate.

He is a multi millionaire with investments in Zimbabwe, South Africa amd Europe, and beyond.

But walking into his home, I was struck by the brilliant lack of conspicuous consumption.

This is a family that has donated millions to good causes, but they had furniture as old as the one you would probably change if you are obsessed with naked consumption.

Everything that I do will be done with my eye into the future.

When I went back to the village, I said to myself everything that I do there should outlive me and the next 2 generations!

When I die, you will not be embarassed when you come to bury me, and there will be borehole water for the village 40 years when I am gone because I have invested in the initial infrastructure today.

It cost me the same amount to put that infrastructure in place as the money it would cost me to buy yet another set of sofas.

We must create wealth not riches, wealth is generational, riches are momentary.

Strive Masiyiwa is creating wealth, your mbingas created riches that once they die, they will disappear with them.

They are living for today like your corrupt politicians that is why they work hand in glove!

The little that I have, it has to be looked after not by buying unnecessary things, but investing in necessary things.

Sofa chairs, cars and related stuff are not things that should be bought as fast as you buy socks amd clothes unless need be.

To start with, look after your property well, and you won’t need to change it regularly.

Now someone who invested US$5000 on stocks in 2010 is probably US$100000 richer today, or a millionaire If he bought Bitcoin, the other one bought sofas.

Let me close this lesson with what my father taught me;
“Son, a man who bought a brand new Mercedes in 1971 as a priority over a home is probably retired at the village, renting or being looked after by his kids.

That Mercedes is rotting in some village or scrap yard, unnoticed and unceremoniously disposed of,” my father said.

“A man who chose to buy a home as a priority over a Mercedes, because the price of a Mercedes was the same as a home, probably is living in that home, or has bought more homes using that initial home investment as loan collateral,” he ended his analogy amd lecture to me.

He was telling me something that actually happened in my life.
In 2001 I came back home and bought a home, I also came back with a 1996 Volvo which I bought at a car auction for £700.

Some of my friends chose to buy brand news cars and rented homes or apartments in Harare, some had to go back to London out of the embarassment of not owning their own properties after they hit hard times.

This lecture came from a sofa right, I can actually afford to replace it, but I won’t because it is still good, and more importantly because it holds sentimental value to me.

I bought it from my mentor, friend and school mate.
It also teaches us that before we prescribe what others should do, we should understand their story first!

I have learnt a lot through others;
In 2011 I bought a Mercedes CLK 320 convertible in London and shipped it home.

One Sunday morning,i met my late neighbor Dr Efison Munjanganja at the gate as he was driving out in his truck with his dear wife.

They were going to church, I was coming from the shops blasting 2 Pac with my roof down.

“Stop,” he shouted! I duly stopped as I always enjoyed our gate-side conversations.

“This is conspicuous consumption yana Chiyangwa chaiyo,” said Dr Munjanganja.

I was so embarassed, later I would make sure he is not by the gate every time I drove my convertible with its top down.

He was partly right, I sold the car for US$25,000 and took all the money and invested it into my goat project.

There is nothing wrong with treating yourself, just as long as you are not shortchanging other parts in your life.

I wouldn’t replace things that don’t need replacing, at least that is me.
This conspicuous consumption culture leads to looting and Corruption as people compete to outdo each other.

“Maona zviri kumba kwava nhingi here?” You probably know the story already.

Good reading & good day
