Gamu was blessed with a Hyundai Santa Fe, one of the latest models. Fortunately, she missed the period where the first versions of the Santa Fe were dominant. The older version of the Santa Fe isn’t as appealing as the newer shape that Gamu got.

She’s probably glad she didn’t get that one. Fast-forward to later versions of Hyundai Santa Fe that received a ‘facelift.’ The facelifted Santa Fe is claimed to be built on a newer platform. The first thing that will probably catch your eye is the “T-shaped” LED lights that cleverly disappear into the newer and cascading grille. Just take a look at the picture of the car and you’ll know exactly what we mean by that.

Wider wheel arches have been built to accommodate the larger 20-inch wheels. Let’s let the experts on this car finish off with this description in the quote below:

“The car has a redesigned center stack with a larger push-button gear selector as well as a new drive mode selector. It also has a 10.25 inch touchscreen and the driver has a 12.3 inch digital gauge cluster. For the United States, the enhanced blind-spot safety tech became standard on the Limited trim, and the Ultimate trim was removed for the 2020 model year and replaced by the new “Calligraphy” trim, similar to the Palisade”

Yes, a lot can happen while you sleep. So here’s the update:

Let’s start with the fact that at the time of writing this article, Hyundai is currently on its way to deliver a Hyundai Santa Fe to Gamu’s doorstep. The condition for receiving this car was that Zwitter (Zimbabweans on twitter) had to follow Hyundai Zimbabwe’s twitter page. Once they reached the 2 000 followers mark they promised to sent Gamu this car you see below:

Why is she getting this car? Well, its her birthday and that simply she will be enjoying a ride in this Hyundai on her birthday.

Now because we always want to add that extra depth to everything, she will be driving to a charity of her choice to bring the children some happiness on her birthday. Hyundai facilitated the car for the journey and other brands were not to be left behind. Fresh in the Box also pitched in with “fresh,” (as the name suggests) groceries that will be taken to the charity by Gamu in her car for the day.

Gamu is usually seen on her motorbike as she is a passionate rider. Below is a picture she shared showing off her classy bike and a little extra:

So how exactly did she get this fortunate?

Well, Shona explains this better. Its one of those situations we say “zvakatanga sekuseka.” The founder of Jacaranda Music Festival, Walter Wanyanya took to his twitter to alert people that it was Gamu’s birthday. As a gift he asked Hyundai to give her a car for the day if he managed to get the Hyundai Zimbabwe twitter page to 2000 followers. Hyundai agreed and the hashtag #2kforGamu started going viral. Most twitter users who followed Hyundai for this cause admitted to not even knowing who Gamu is. Nonetheless, the goal was reached and Gamu’s birthday was made.
