Linda Masarira claimed to have seen a picture of Fantan holding a plastic bag that looked like it contained drugs. Without approaching the DJ about this matter, Masarira rashly expressed her assumption-based disappointment to her 61.5k followers on Twitter. She attacked Fantan saying that he was setting a very poor example to the generation that looks up to him.

The two met amicably to resolve the issue in person. The rendezvous proves to have been successful as Masarira posted pictures of them with the caption :

Linda Masarira, who declared herself the first female president of Zimbabwe in 2028, called out DJ Fantan for doing drugs. This seemingly baseless claim was posted on her twitter page for all to see. She said to Fantan today you’ve “lost a fan” due to his alleged distribution and usage of drugs.

Fantan was quick to defend himself, affirming that he doesn’t even take alcohol, let alone the drugs he was accused of selling and taking. The confrontation happened over the phone and below is a recording of how it unfolded:

Fantan stated that he will be engaging his lawyer on this matter as a result of this defamation of character.

The self claimed future president, who might gain more from focusing on her political career instead had this to say:

More developments  on this case to come if and when lawyers are engaged.

In an interview with Magamba TV Take Down, Masarira expressed her confidence that she will be the president in 2028 with a doubt. Her remarks were as follows:

“Realistically i will be the first female of Zimbabwe. 2023 has got a lot of political dynamics in place and for me I am going to take 2023 as a lesson. I am going to get into it to understand the ropes because you cannot just jump into it or get to it just because you have just jumped into a pool.

We always have to learn, we always have to take baby steps and we always have to learn how to do things. So for me I don’t see myself getting into power in 2023 because of the political dynamics in our political space.

But I am taking that opportunity to learn, to understand and perfect my campaign going forward and making sure that in 2028 I will be seating in Munhumutapa Building (President’s offices) right there in Samora Machel Avenue”

What challenges might she have to face?

Well, for starters, less than 40 made it the National Assembly through direct voting. Of the ones that are there, it would seem that they had to depend on the Proportional Representation Clause to get to that position.

“I am wrongfully accused in this matter. The person who stole some of the things on the docket is my son during the time he was battling with drug addiction. He even advised the police likewise who refused to change the docket. No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper!”

Citizens have somewhat mixed feelings on the subject and that’s alright. To each his own. If you have taken these words to be a sincere effort to take her innocent name out of the mud, that’s alright. However, if you are not buying it, you might have saved yourself US$3140. It won’t make you a landlord but I guess it could be sufficient to cover some debts and bills, right?

The crime allegedly committed by Masarira seems to have gains that would amount to US$3140. A crime is a crime and we do not endorse any form of thievery, however, we are forced to ask if US$3140 is an amount Masarira deemed worth putting her career on the line for. If it is, we shudder to think of the shambles our country might really be in.

Linda Masarira is said to have been left in custody of her landlords property in Marlborough. However, a year later when Madamombe, the landlord, decided to collect his property it was missing. The court stated that Madamombe is said to have discovered that Masarira had sold his property and converted the money for her own use.
