Despite the seemingly magnanimous role of provider to all his offspring, Luke Masamvu’s 12 wives agree that he took care of his family’s needs better than most fathers with even smaller families. He was described as a man who knows how to balance out family politics and his business. In an interview with the press, Madeline Masamvu, one of Mr. Masamvu’s wives, had this to say:

“At home, Mr. Masamvu is a father. A father who knows how to take care of his family in a way that surprises many people. He has 12 wives, all of which are treated equally. Our kids do not even know who their biological mothers among the 12 of us are because we give them the same amount of love” 

This family man, Mr. Masamvu died on 30 January 2021 at 62 years of age due to Covid related complications. Family Spokesman Jonh Masamvu shared the following remarks concerning the death of his brother:

“It was a very sad day for the entire Masamvu family. We have lost a big family man who also served his country in Parliament”
