]]>Tinashe Kitchen, who spoke on behalf of Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation shared the following sentiments with regards to this event and the “Big Diaspora Collaboration:
“Our aim with this performance is to celebrate our artists who are waving the Zimbabwean flag high all over the world. Just like the legends we honour this year, they continue to inspire and make us proud to be Zimbabwean through their art and majesty,”
Speaking in agreement with Mr Tinashe Kitchen, NAMA’S Executive Director and producer, Napoleon Nyanhi had this to say:
“One of the NAMA mandates is to expose Zimbabwean talent to the world and this Big Diaspora Collaboration serves to herald Zimbabwe’s dominance beyond our boarders. We have exported a lot of brilliant talent as a nation and at NAMA we will celebrate with some of our best musical exports,” said Napoleon Nyanhi, NAMA Executive Director and producer.
The Big Diaspora Collaboration is a first of its kind and a rarity. The artists to perform as part of this collab are:

Bekezela (SA),
Brian Nhira(USA),
Cindy Munyavi (USA),
Sani Makhalima (Australia),
Tina Masawi (Spain),
Vimbai Zimuto (Netherlands),
Vusa Mkhaya (Austria).

]]>However, there’s something constant about life, change. Circumstances change so drastically and unexpectedly that we are forced to make life-altering decisions in the blink of an eye. Our hopes and desires change too and can even lead us into making game-changing decisions.
In April 2019, a talented Vusa (Blaqs) Hlatshwayo waltzed to the stage clad in an expensive suit. He was on top of the world, and why not? He had won his first NAMA award for a music video. Its in that moment, standing next to Ginimbi (God rest his soul),Vusa made a decision that would change his life forever.
He announced that he was going to quit doing music videos. ‘What was he going to do next since all he had been known for was doing music videos?’ the crowd wondered.
It’s been two years since and proud Vusa is still making music videos. During his tenure in retirement he managed to produce over a dozen music videos.
Here’s a list of some the videos :
So kids, the lesson here is don’t quit your day job unless you’ve found another.
We love you Vusa Blaqs.
