The mother of these nonuplets, Halima Cisse gave birth to them in Morocco. The Mali’s government acted immediately and flew to her to provide the needed specialist assistance. Of the nine babies five were girls and four boys. The father of the babies shared his joy in the following sentiments:

“I’m very happy. My wife and the babies are doing well”

The Guinness World Record for the most babies delivered at single birth who survived is currently held by a woman who gave birth to 8 babies.

Mali’s health ministry revealed that an ultrasound previously carried out on the nonuplets’ mother had suggested that she was carrying seven babies. Needless to say that the additional two came as a surprise to both the parents and the ministry.

The ministry further congratulated the doctors of Mali and Morocco for their professionalism in handling this rare pregnancy case.

Long story short, that’s one very strong woman!
