]]>President Idriss Deby had just been re-elected as the Chad President on Monday. If not for his untimely death, this would have been his sixth term as president of the nation.
Army Spokesperson Général Azem Bemrandoua Agouna broke this sad news to the press. He described the situation stating that the Chad army had been pushed back by insurgents who were advancing on the capital city N’Djamena. Derby had visited the Chadian soldiers on the front line putting on hold the victory speech he was set to give.
More details to follow.

]]>The post The seductive Miss South Africa to run for president. What a time to be alive! appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>Some of her greatest achievements in the modelling industry would be being featured in Vogue Italia in 2018. She has also modelled for large brands including Woolworths. Of course we won’t leave out the fact that she currently holds the title of Miss South and will represent South Africa in the Miss World 2021 contest.

Her tweet expressing her desire to run for president was met with some highly unanticipated criticisms, most of which tied in her background in modelling. Some popular sentiments can be summed up into comments that read something like “President of Bikini Bodies?” or “Focus on walking around naked. Stay in your lane.”
Does her being a model automatically disqualify her from presidency? Is her modelling career a reflection of a low IQ? It seems that most people seem to think so.

Here’s what others have forgotten. Whether or not she goes on to pursue a political career is another issue. The important issue might be that she is not just a beauty without brains. Her track record outside of the beauty industry is also pretty impressive.
Musida holds graduated with a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. She hasn’t stopped there, she is currently doing her BA Honours in International Relations at the University of Witwatersrand.
She doesn’t end there. Musida is an advocate for mental health awareness and the empowerment of women and children. In sight of these qualifications outside her modelling career, some people remarked that she would make for a good president given her social activism.

]]>The post Tanzanian President John Magufuli dies appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>Tanzania’s Vice President Samia Suluhu Hassan told their local press that the deceased president was being treated in a hospital in Dar es Salaam where he then passed away on Wednesday 17 March 2021. This unfortunate event came 14 days after he was hidden from the public and speculations were being shared about his health
The country’s opposition shared the news that suggested that the president had contracted Covid-19 a week ago. This information had however not yet been affirmed.
If indeed Magufuli had contracted the virus, this would stand as a stark irony because the leader was one of Africa’s most noticeable Covid skeptics. He encouraged steaming and home remedies to counter the virus.
Vice-President Hassan shared the following remarks:
“It is with deep regret that I inform you that today… we lost our brave leader, the president of the Republic of Tanzania, John Pombe Magufuli,”
She said there would be 14 days of national mourning and flags would fly at half mast.
As indicated by Tanzania’s constitution, Ms Hassan will be confirmed as the new president and should serve the rest of Magufuli’s five-year group which he started a year ago.
This unfortunate event took place just a week after Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa affirmed that the president was “healthy and working hard”.
He pinned the bits of gossip about the president’s medical affliction on “hateful” Tanzanians living abroad.
In any case, opposition leader Tundu Lissu told the BBC that his sources had disclosed to him Magufuli was being treated in emergency hospital for Covid in Kenya.

]]>In an interview with Magamba TV Take Down, Masarira expressed her confidence that she will be the president in 2028 with a doubt. Her remarks were as follows:
“Realistically i will be the first female of Zimbabwe. 2023 has got a lot of political dynamics in place and for me I am going to take 2023 as a lesson. I am going to get into it to understand the ropes because you cannot just jump into it or get to it just because you have just jumped into a pool.
We always have to learn, we always have to take baby steps and we always have to learn how to do things. So for me I don’t see myself getting into power in 2023 because of the political dynamics in our political space.
But I am taking that opportunity to learn, to understand and perfect my campaign going forward and making sure that in 2028 I will be seating in Munhumutapa Building (President’s offices) right there in Samora Machel Avenue”
What challenges might she have to face?
Well, for starters, less than 40 made it the National Assembly through direct voting. Of the ones that are there, it would seem that they had to depend on the Proportional Representation Clause to get to that position.
Will Masarira beat the odds and become the first female President in 2028?
