Zimbabwean women constantly cry that there are no good men and that men do not want to empower them.

Yet so many testimonies on social media platforms like Tete Fadzi on Twitter, Tete Jenny on Facebook and Jackie Ngarande on Facebook show the opposite and prove that there are men that make the effort.

Jackie Ngarande posted a testimony sent to her inbox by a follower. In the testimony, the married man talks about how he empowered his wife to start a business of buying and selling. She started off buying her wares from Mbare and later bought from South Africa, Tanzania and Turkey.

The man says his wife excelled in her business so well she even has more money than he has. Yet after helping her establish herself in the business she started looking down on the man. She advised him to stop hanging out with people she considered low class and even had disputes with the man’s relatives.

As if that’s not enough, she also started having an affair with a well-known man in Harare who also orders his wares from Turkey. The man claims that they use the trips to Turkey as an opportunity to see each other and spend time together. At the end of his message, the man expresses that he has decided to divorce his wife and does not encourage men to empower women as they will end up looking down on them.

This is not the first case posted on social media. Apparently, this is very common in Zimbabwe the very same country with hoards of women that complain that “the streets” are dry. There have been stories of men who send their girlfriends to school and are later dumped by the same girlfriends. It’s baffling how these stories are always flooding the timeline.

Below is the full story as told on Jackie Ngarande’s Facebook page.

“Tete Ngarande I need help.

I love my wife do much to extend of opening her a business she is passionate about ,I sacrificed everything for her to become a business owner that she is today, you always preach women empowerment ,zvechokwadi I empowered her and she is happy.

English translation below

“Aunty Ngarande I need help.

I love my wife do much to extend of opening a business she is passionate about, I sacrificed everything for her to become the business owner that she is today. You always preach women empowerment, truthfully, I empowered her and she is happy.

My wife started off ordering her wares from Mbare in a minibus, then she started ordering them from South Africa by bus/coach. Then she started going to South Africa by plane.

As the business was growing at every stage of the business I would always top up capital n funding. From SA by air to Tanzania by Air. From Tanzania by Air to Turkey by Air. Aunty my wife is now very successful such that I also wish I was her. I did this such that even if I die, she would be fine but ever since my wife’s business started getting bigger, she looks down upon me Aunty. She treats me like a mere child.

What do you have to say, Aunty, about a woman who shows off. If you listen to her talking you’ll be amazed. Even her accent is better than Ruvheneko’s. She’s so into herself Aunty. She has changed her behaviour towards me and all my family members. She even said who I associate with matters, I no longer associate myself with shallow minds. Aunty, I have never cheated on my wife, in fact, I am a very decent man. So besides her showing off and the fact that she’s so into herself, I discovered that when she goes to Turkey she will be cheating with a guy who runs one of the biggest stores of male clothing here in Harare. So they travel together and he will be ordering his suits whilst my wife orders her wares.

I have all their messages and I will send them as well as their pictures.  I just thought to let you know the outcome. Sometimes when you empower a woman. You’re left behind as you will no longer be of her class. And the wives of other men who go to Turkey, some are honest, some are cheating there. It’s like a Harbour for buying and selling and prostituting as well.

I have decided to leave my wife and, everything I acquired with her. I want to walk out of this marriage with my spirit intact.

Don’t forget me in your prayers family Aunty and I have sent the pictures, I’m sure you know the people in them.💔💔

Tete Fadzi who is known by the twitter family for her relationship advice and real talk is celebrating one year. Talk about consistency and growth! The celebration was very stylish and a great way to reward herself for the one year milestone.

Twitter celebrities growing an account from scratch know that the first year is the most difficult. So much of consistency and determination is required. The first stage is different from the later stages as the brand will not have gained trust. In later stages when the brand is trusted people will be more inclined to follow.

The account currently sits at 52.3k followers. One year of giving people advice and discussing important societal issues.

View the pictures of the celebration below:

We have previously shared some of the content Tete Fadzie addresses. In the article we looked at the issue of why married women cheat and we took Tete Fadzi’s comments into much consideration. Check that out here.

Congratulations Tete Fadzi for this milestone.
