This development will surely boost tourism between Germany, its surrounding European countries, and Zimbabwe.
Speaking at the launch of the service in Victoria Falls, Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona said;
“Eurowings Discover has automatically become a player in connecting this city to more friends and new business partners. We treat the introduction of air services by Eurowings Discover as a seal of approval of our tourism destinations; as a bold endorsement of our government’s ease of doing business and promotion of investment policies in line with the countries mantra ‘Zimbabwe is Open for Business’”

Eurowings Discover a subsidiary of the large German Lufthansa airline, services five destinations in Africa namely Mombasa in Kenya, Windhoek in Namibia, Zanzibar in Tanzania, Mauritius and now Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. The airline will have three weekly flights from Frankfurt to Victoria Falls

]]>Zimbabwe’s National Archives (NAZ) will align with the upcoming upgrade of the walls by turning to digitisation for the safekeeping of data relating to the bilateral relations between France and Zimbabwe.
Mr Laurent Chevallier, the French Ambassador paid a courtesy visit to Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe to discuss further on the Great Zimbabwe facelift. The assistance of France in this project is aimed at enhancing relations between the two countries.
The French will not stop with the upgrading of the Great Zimbabwe walls but intend to go a step further in assisting NAZ with digitisation and training.
Mr Laurent Chevallier, expressed that their country took pride in this collaboration with Zimbabwe as it helps strengthen the nations’ relationship. The plans are now in motion starting on 19 May 2021. The French Ambassador had the following to say:
“We are very happy to be here today on the opening of the important workshop on the development of Great Zimbabwe World Heritage site carried out by the National Museums and Monuments of Zimbabwe (NMMZ) in collaboration with French Development Agency (AFD). The cooperation is a major part of the French action in Zimbabwe for many years especially in terms of the protection and promotion of cultural heritage.”
However, this move left some Zimbabweans worried that the French government will want a share in owning our heritage. The NNMZ director, Godfrey Mahachi set our minds at ease when he stated that this move was not at all like selling our heritage, but simply protecting and refurbishing it.
What are your thoughts?

]]>The post Zimbabwe named 3rd Best Destination in the World to Visit in 2019 appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>Zimbabwe has just been named the 3rd best destination to visit in 2019, on Lonely Planet’s website. What is unique is that Zimbabwe is the only country in the top 10. According to Lonely Planet Zimbabwe is one of the safest destinations in the world, and it is blessed with ultra-friendly locals, that’s us people.
- Zimbabwe
While it may be known for making the headlines for all the wrong reasons, Zimbabwe has always been a country that travellers on the ground have raved about. Not only is it one of Africa’s safest destinations, it’s one blessed with ultra-friendly locals, Big Five-filled national parks, World Heritage-listed archaeological ruins, forested mountains and, of course, the mighty Victoria Falls. Although the controversial 2018 election may have dampened the unbridled optimism following the end of Robert Mugabe’s time in power, the sense of hope for what the country can become remains strong in Zimbabweans. And as always, a visit here is viewed by locals as a sign of support of them on their journey to a new dawn. — Lonely Planet
Other countries to make the list include Sri Lanka on number 1 and Germany on number 2, see list below.
Hopefully this positive review will bring a lot of tourists to our beautiful nation.
