]]>The woman was murdered in cold blood after she tried to stop the robber from assaulting an elderly woman with a stick.
According to the statement (full statement below):
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing to the public to assist with information in connection with an armed robbery and murder case, in which a 31-year-old woman was shot dead by an unknown male suspect in Waterfalls, Harare on 9 March 2022 at around 0100 hours,”
The armed suspect stormed into the house through an unlocked door and demanded cash from the three occupants. He was given US$60, an iTel 16 and Huawei cellphones. The suspect was not happy and he decided to demand more whilst assaulting a 78-year-old woman with a stick. The 31-year-old woman was then shot whilst trying to defend the older woman.
According to a post on the “Zvemu Zimbabwe” page on Facebook (pic above), a man has been arrested for the crime. The police had expressed in their statement that they would employ all means necessary to bring the armed robber to justice. Many are hurt by the events and feel like the woman died in vain as the money and phones that were stolen were not worth the loss of life.
