Just yesterday, Zimbabwean Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe went undercover in A passport queue and managed to catch an individual operating on the wrong side of the law. Taking to social media, Minister Kazembe Kazembe proudly stated that he wanted to experience what it feels like to be in the queue. He set out on this mission to stand in the queue early in the morning.
This move was praised by many and was given much coverage by the media. Resultantly, it got many frustrated citizens suggesting that the Minister needs to also experience what it feels like to wait in ZUPCO queues. If this is done, the citizens expect that their complaints on the ZUPCO systems will be taken seriously.
The ZUPCO buses have been running increasingly inefficiently since the beginning of their unlawful monopoly. These disorganised bus systems are even compromising the jobs of many. Leader of the LEAD party, Linda Musarira took to twitter to express the plight of Zimbabwean citizens over the issue of ZUPCO buses. The tweet was directed towards the President of the country ED Mnangagwa. She expressed the following:
2/ It is imperative to add the fleet of commuters that used to operate under ZUPCO so as to provide an efficient, reliable & fast transport service to the commuting public in Zim. A minute lost in business is money lost. The buses operating under ZUPCO are failing to meet demand

4/ @MinistryofTID should ensure that the people of Zimbabwe have safe, reliable transport that does not compromise their businesses and work. @PoliceZimbabwe should also ensure that women, pwd and the elderly are not assaulted whilst trying to board buses to and from work.

Below are some pictures that clearly depict the sad ZUPCO situation that citizens have to face:
