The former First Lady Grace Mugabe’s son Russell Goreraza landed himself in some hot soup after allegedly stealing gold processing equipment at Tian Bao Mineral Industry in Mazowe. He appeared before Concession Magistrates Courts yesterday along with his accomplices.
Goreraza, who is Grace Mugabe’s son from a previous marriage, was reported to have spearheaded the stealing of a gold smelter, ball mill, electric motor, approximately 200 ball mill metal balls, 20 slay pumps, 50 ball mill liners and 15 angle iron bars. These items are said to have been loaded with a crane into a truck by his three accomplices.
His three accomplices were Paul Sithole (45), Aaron Muchenje (31) and Trymore Madzitire (36). The trio appeared before magistrate Moreblessing Makati yesterday.
Prince Danda, managing director of number 9 Calgary Farm, Mazowe was the complainant on this case. It was reported that on the 10th of April at 7am, the three men, under direction from Goreraza, started dismantling a processing plant on the farm belonging to the late President Robert Gabriel Mugabe and Grace Mugabe.
The plot was soon intercepted by the Mazowe Police and they were arrested.
Thus far, just US$300 000 of the stolen US$1 300 000 property has been recovered.
