On the 22nd of April 2021 a Gweru man suddenly opened fire on his wife’s suspected boyfriend and the boyfriend’s girlfriend. The accused is said to have found out that his wife (complainant number 1) had travelled without his knowledge with deceased number 1 and 2(boyfriend and girlfriend) and complainant number 2 (wife’s sister). They are said to have been on their way to collect a passport for complainant number 2.
The accused suspected his wife of being in an affair with deceased number one so on hearing the news that they had travelled together with 2 other people he loaded his gun. He headed to number 11 Bensam Flats Main Street in Gweru where complainant number one resides.
He found deceased number one, the alleged boyfriend of his wife, seated in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Hiace and shot him in the head causing him to die instantly. He went back upstairs and bumped into deceased number 2 and continued to shoot her on the chest and she died instantly.
The accused went on to shoot complainant number 1 (his wife) and number 2. They both sustained injuries.
The matter was reported by the accused’s brother Advance Dube who witnessed the crime.
Accused number one is currently on the run.
