Some good news coming out of Mutare, Evans Momberume the ‘husband’ of the late Memory Machaya who died while giving birth at a Johanne Marange shrine in Mutare.
Accoding to reports Momberume was finally apprehended by Criminal Investigations Department (CID) after eluding the police for some time. He is being charged with having intercourse with a minor.
The police are concerned with finding Memory Machaya’s burial site amidst reports from her Mother and Aunt that she was buried inside the shrine, without proper legal procedures being followed.
There was a huge outcry of social media which prompted the police issue a statement.
Evans Momberume is set to appear in court on Thursday 19 August 2021.
