Zimbabweans are probably now realising that it is not that easy to celebrate each other’s successes. On the contrary, the nation seems to have been infuriated.
Amidst the economic hardships in the country, a small percentage is still able to afford the finer things in life. That generally distresses those that are struggling to make ends meet as was shown by the issues of the rents being paid by the rich of Zimbabwe. It further infuriates them when those in power splurge on such luxuries.
This was the case when one of Mnangagwa’s twin sons, Sean was seen driving an expensive Rolls Royce. Pictures were shared of him collecting the vehicle at Boka Tobacco Auctions. The vehicle is said to have costed US$360 000 and ended up reaching US$500 000 as a result of duty costs.
However, an associate of Sean’s insisted that the vehicle did not belong to Sean. He continued saying it was the property of gold dealer Pedzai ‘Scott’ Sakupwanya. However, if this is indeed the case, its not clear why the President’s son had gone to collect the vehicle on Scott’s behalf.

Of course, people still highly suspect that the vehicle is indeed Sean Mnangagwa’s. The resentment still exists because official’s and their offspring are living the “soft life” while the rest of the nation suffers. This is because such persons are accused of using corrupt means that affect the lives of honest hardworking citizens to gain those luxuries.
This situation is a very different case from that of celebrated footballer Nakamba’s Lamborghini purchase as people respect his hardwork.
Sean and his twin brother have previously been linked to tender corruption in the procurement of medical supplies. Their move is said to have lead to the arrest and removal of former health minister and “ghetto buddie” Shashl’s dad, Obadiah Moyo,
No wonder people would be so infuriated by such a purchase.
