Tinashe Mugabe has been the talk of the town lately. Gents say he is “fixing the nation” while some females seem to imply that he has no business doing what he does.
If you’re living under a rock, perhaps you’re wondering who Tinashe Mugabe is. The young man is known as the DNA man. Yes, that guy from the popular Closure DNA show. He carries out DNA tests to prove whether a couple children are indeed fathered by the alleged father. Thus far it is said that up to 70% of fathers that come on the show end up finding out that they’ve been raising children that weren’t theirs. With results like these, no wonder Zimbabwean men seem to be demanding DNA tests more than ever.
Besides the alarming results, the presenter is also known for his brutal delivery of the message. In particular, lines such as “hapana chenyu chiri kuwanikwa pamwana uyu” have gone viral. The way Tinashe Mugabe delivers the results, has come under intense scrutiny from some psychologists in Zimbabwe. They have called it nonsensical and immoral.
Perhaps they are suggesting that the results be delivered in a gentle and diplomatic manner. However, fans of Tinashe Mugabe were sure to point out that there was no issue at all as the show was structured well and the couples voluntarily went on the show.
Of course, this all fell on deaf ears as the psychology account suggested were appalled by the couples not being taken for counselling following the devastating results.
Well, in Tinashe Mugabe’s defence, perhaps he does that to avoid the embarrassing situations. One such embarrassing situation was when a woman, who had just denied ever having relations with her ex lover, accidentally celebrated the unfavourable results.
