South African woman hopefully broke only the world record when she gave birth to 10 kids at once

10 Children at once! Yes, you heard that right. A South African woman has broken the childbirth world record that was set just a few months ago.

Just last month, a Mali woman broke the world record for the number of children she gave birth to. The woman, Halima Cisse, gave birth to 9 healthy babies at once and found herself in the Guinness World Record.

Unfortunately for the Cisse woman, her stay in the world record book was very short-lived. South Africa’s Gosiame Thamara Sithole has broken that record as she delivered 10 babies at once.

The 10 babies consist of 7 boys and 3 girls.

Here is a picture of her while she was still pregnant. Her belly probably gave it away that she’d have more than one child. However, ten kids probably came as a surprise to the people around her including the mother.

Sithole, who is from Gauteng Province, gave birth at Pretoria Hospital on the evening of Monday 7 June 2021. Sithole and Teboho Tsotetsi, her husband, are now proud parents to 12 children. They currently also have six year old twins.

Sithole had gone into labour expecting 8 children, as the final scan had shown. The other two were said to have been undetected as they were in the wrong tube. Nonetheless, the parents expressed their joy in bringing these kids into the world.
