The Zimbabwe Republic Police have sternly warned Zimbabweans of what seems to be their favourite mode of transport. Avoid it by all means! They also took the liberty to explain why. But is this practical?
On their twitter page, the ZRP have told Zimbabweans to stay away from use of Mushika-shikas. One reason is that they are said to be infested with thieves. A few instances were shared by the police with regards to his matter.
On the 7th of June 2021, a man was robbed after boarding a mushika-shika. He was relieved of US$117 and ZWL$40. In another robbery case, a man ended up being stabbed in a mushika-shika.

Zimbabweans were quick to refer to the fact that even police officers use mushika-shika. This is usually as a result of ZUPCO system inefficiencies.
