The post Prophet T Freddy Rape Case Thrown Out, He Is A Free Man appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>For those of you who are not familiar with the story, Prophet Tapiwa Freddy of the Goodness and Mercy Ministries has been in recent months facing rape and abuse charges laid by a local woman who also happens to be a radio presenter. The woman reached out to the prophet for assistance when her late husband fell ill back in November 2019.
According to the woman, the prophet allegedly gave her money to take her late husband to the hospital as he was not showing any improvement after prayers. The husband unfortunately passed away and the woman claims that the prophet proposed love to her to which she refused because she was in mourning.

The woman alleges that at a later time the prophet asked to visit her son in the rural areas and upon coming back, she claims that he raped her. She claims that he asked to stay the night at her house as it was too late for him to go home. According to her the preacher forced himself on her several times.
Prophet T Freddy denied the claims and even went as far as producing nude photos during court proceedings that allegedly were sent by the woman. He also claimed that the charges were laid in a bid to discredit him and extort him for money.
The Harare regional magistrate Mrs. Gloria Takundwa has since discharged Freddy after noting that the truth was not told in the whole matter.

]]>Supposedly, instead of addressing pressing issues affecting the livelihoods of the majority, such as the unavailability of water for many Zimbabweans have stated that they would rather address issues such as the dog taxes that were brought up this year. This time around the City Of Harare have addressed churches’ disturbing others and as you would expect, not everyone is happy with this move.
Churches, Stop Your Noise
The City of Harare shared the following on their social media platforms:
‘Dear Harare Church Leaders It has come to our attention that residents are unhappy over noise pollution caused by your churches loud music. Residents want you to be considerate and accept that not everyone wants to listen to your music and preaching.
Church buildings are mandated to have sound proof. Singing and preaching in the middle of residential areas is not encouraged. There is need to respect the privacy of other residents who want to rest and enjoy home time.’

Zimbabwean’s Sentiments
Some Christians
As you would expect, there are some staunch Christians that have quickly taken offence. They have stated that these aren’t matters to be addressed as such as they considered it to be going against Christ.

Sick and Tired Zimbabweans
Part of the pollution made sure to point out to the issues that the City Of Harare ought to be focusing on. This included the visual pollution all over the CBD caused by the City Of Harare not collecting refuse. Some referred to the lack of water that has haunted many for a long time.

In Support Of The COH
Of course there are others who were 100% in support of this. This group is made mainly up of people who have suffered as a result of said noise pollution by various churches in their residential areas. Others just don’t believe in churches anymore as a result of various activities including the AFM shooting which Provoker Magazine has previously dissected.

Now there is also the issue of town planning. To avoid such scenarios, churches and other places where people congregate are not meant to be found in residential areas. The question that would point right back to the City Of Harare would be, why did churches ended up there in the first place?

]]>The post Church is now for the vaccinated ONLY. Again! appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>The issue of who can and who cannot attend church has been back and forth. In August 2021 the first announcement in regards to church attendance was given. It stated that only those who are vaccinated can attend church services, This was taken as a move to try and force people to get vaccinated as much resistance was coming from Christians. This resistance came after the beliefs that the vaccine was the mark of the beast and other teachings had circulated.
The vaccination issue even proved to be a point of conflict among church leaders like Apostle Chiwenga and Prophet Makandiwa.
Following the President’s announcement that we were now in Level 2 Lockdown, the church attendance issue resurfaced. Soon after, the nation was under the impression that it was now okay for unvaccinated church members to attend service. This came after a statement issued by the High Court stated that those that attended church unvaccinated could no longer be arrested.
Unfortunately for those that had gotten their hopes up, we have come full circle. Nick Mangwana took to twitter to announce that unvaccinated church members cannot attend service.

Cabinet has resolved only vaccinated congregants can attend church and that is limited to 50% of the holding capacity of the church #postcabinetbrief pic.twitter.com/RDdvcYev21

To those that are opposing this law, Nick Mangwana was at liberty to say the following:
Romans 13:1-2 says: "Obey the government, for God is the One who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. So those who refuse to obey the law of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow."

This new legislative is under Statutory Instrument(SI) 228B of 2021.

]]>As a protective measure to combat the covid-19 problem, the Zimbabwean government is encouraging vaccination. However, their efforts have not been welcomed well by everyone. Vaccination presents some controversial schools of thought that have come to be accepted by society. No wonder much dissatisfaction surrounded the arrest of the Christ Embassy pastor for having unvaccinated members. In Denmark, such covid protective measures have been eradicated.
Following a statement by the government offering group vaccinations to churches, it is becoming clear that there is still much resistance to vaccination.

]]>When the drive towards vaccination against coronavirus began, many with a Christian background where influenced to believe this might be the mark of the beast. This is one of many school of thoughts on vaccination by church goers. Vaccinating such ones proved to be a challenge.
Another school of thought is that vaccinations aren’t effective. This thought has even been the foundation for Denmark’s eradication of these covid preventative measures.
Following the government’s move allowing churches to open if congregants are vaccinated, it seems some churches are now singing a different tune. About 200 people are already being vaccinated per day at New Highfield Roman Catholic Church in Harare. This has been done to avoid people having to walk to the next vaccination centre which is far.
Those that thought this the government’s decision was just a drive to try and give people no choice but to get vaccinated thought this would happen. Pastors obviously don’t want to be arrested like what happened at Christ Embassy.
In short, if the decision on churches was indeed a move to increase the number of people getting vaccinated, then this is yet another win for the government.

]]>According to news reports a Christ Embassy pastor is the first casualty to get arrested for flouting this new directive, after the police found 50 unvaccinated members congregating at his Glen View 3 church.
The pastor was fined $2000 and some of the members are still assisting police with investgations, whatever that means.
The issue of vaccines have divided the citizens with some advocating for it and some for whatever reason for it, it’s also worth noting that some developed countries have taken a radical approach of ditching the vaccines altogether.
The government is really trying to force its way on the church which it feels might be the biggest hindrance in the adoption of vaccines.
Should the vaccines be forced, what’s our take?

]]>The post Churches write off the No jab No church regulation appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>Congregates already displayed dissatisfaction over this move by the government and questioned their true agenda. Now churches have finally spoken with regards to the no jab, no church regulation.
The Zimbabwe Heads of Christian Denominations (ZHOCD), stated that the government needed to reconsider as this move could put the country in a serious health disaster. This association is made up of Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference, Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe and the Union for Development of Apostolic and Zionist Churches in Zimbabwe Africa.
The association argued that this regulation would be difficult to implement and monitor given that the health sector is already short staffed. In addition they also raised another issue pertaining to what people have termed “vaccination discrimination”. The statement highlighted that from a theological standpoint that church is expected to welcome everyone without any preconditions. It emphasised that there is no such thing as qualification for church service in the eyes of God.
The ZHOCD has suggested that the Ministry of health issue a detailed statement addressing the grey areas in this law. Some questions to be addressed would be the number of attendees allowed and how vaccination clearance affects those below the age of 18.

]]>The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting showcased, on their twitter page, a video of the President present as the consignment of the Sinopharm vaccines arrived. President Mnangagwa announced that the consignment consisted of 400 000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccines.
95 000 more doses are said to follow. These will include 75 000 inactivated Covaxin from India and 20 000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccines from Russia. US$100 million has also been set aside by the government for the procurement of the vaccines.
President Mnangagwa shared the following remarks on this occasion,
“The fact that we are the only country in Africa which has to date received the second batch of the vaccine doses from China, attests to the strong, comprehensive and strategic nature of our partnership.”
It is also reported that the government intends to put church leaders at the forefront of receiving the first jabs out of this second batch of vaccines.
A citizen’s comment on this development summarized what might be most people’s sentiments on this issue. It simply said “kkk violence”
With the resistance portrayed by a large number of citizens could this move be another attempt of coercing the masses into getting vaccinated?
The influence of the church and their leaders is no secret. Even Hitler understood this and some historians point out that he at some point made the reading of the Mein Kempf (his political manifesto) mandatory even among congregants.
While we are not comparing anyone to the vile dictator, we are highlighting the indisputable influence of church leaders on the masses. Could this be a tool being used to compel citizens to be vaccinated?

]]>The resolve is clear. Pope Francis stated that the Catholic Church cannot bless same sex unions. Part of the basis of this decision was said to be that the it ¨is not licit¨ for the church to bless relationships that involve sex outside of marriage.
Pope Francis further clarified this with the statement,
¨The presence in such relationships of positive elements, which are in themselves to be valued an appreciated, cannot justify these relationships and render them legitimate objects of an ecclesial blessing¨
Massioli Faggioli, a professor of religious studies at Villanova University had this to say on this verdict,
¨This is an important document because it shows how far Pope Francis is willing to go and where he wants to stop¨
But, is it really the Pope’s decision to make?
The internet was taken by storm by this decision and expressed different very heated views on the subject. Below are some sentiments expressed :

The above sentiment expressed by many can be said to coincide with the Bibles viewpoint. A screenshot of a bible passage condemning the act can be seen below;

One would think that the above scripture alone would clearly show Gods view on the subject. If such acts can deter one from entering into the the Kingdom of God, then is it not a reflection of his condemnation of homosexual acts?
The other view expressed online can be summed up by the comment below

However, does love by definition boil down to the acceptance of every and any act? Could it be more cohesive with the Word to instead view matters is this way; God is love and that never changes, so would He then deny us of anything that would benefit us tremendously? Or does it mean that since He is love, he is no longer allowed to set standards for those that choose to worship him to abide by?
Some have argued that this is an infringement of the gay society rights . However, there is also the right to worship. Which is more important? Is this verdict really being forced on the gay society or its for those that, in this case, choose to worship in this way?
What are your views on the matter.
