The post Africa Wealth Report 2022: South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Morocco, and Kenya Account For More Than 50% Of Africa’s Total Wealth appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>According to this year’s report, the “Big 5” of private wealth are South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Morroco, and Kenya as they hold over 50% of the continent’s wealth. The total value of private wealth held in Africa is US$2.1 trillion and is expected to rise by 38% over the next 10 years.
Andrew Amoils, Head of Research at New World Wealth, explains that private wealth refers to all an individual’s net assets (property, cash, equities, and business interests) less any liabilities. He says;
“Africa is home to some of the world’s fastest-growing markets, including Rwanda, Uganda, and Mauritius. We forecast private wealth growth of over 60% in all three countries in the next decade, driven by especially strong performance in the technology and professional services sectors.”
There are currently 136,000 high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) with a private wealth of US$1 million or more living in Africa, along with 305 centi-millionaires worth US$100 million or more, and 21 US dollar billionaires.
Despite a tough past decade, South Africa is still home to over twice as many HNWIs as any other African country, while Egypt now has the most billionaires. Mauritius has the highest wealth per capita (average wealth per person) in Africa, at USD 34,500, followed by South Africa at USD 10,970 and Namibia at USD 9,320.
The report has shown Mauritius to be the fastest-growing wealth market in Africa, with projected growth of 80% over the next decade. This will also make it one of the fastest-growing high-income markets in the world over this period (in percentage growth terms), together with Australia, Malta, New Zealand, and Switzerland. By 2031, HNWI numbers in Mauritius are expected to reach over 8,000.
Zimbabwe is not mentioned anywhere in the report and it is understandable as the economy is currently very unstable and the majority of Zimbabweans live in poverty.

]]>The post Olinda Chapel Battling Covid Despite Getting Three Vaccinations appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>Olinda Chapel-Nkomo shared a picture of a Covid positive test a few days ago on her Facebook page with the caption “Ma one”.
Today on Facebook, Olinda posted of Facebook;
“Amana covid ma one. Ndaizviita ndururani the last 3 years ndichiti ndiri strong. Chinhu chino chino rwadza. Plus kuita kunge wakutopenga. Apo I have 3 vaccines. Haaaaaa ndabhooo. I want to go back to work”
Olinda talks about how the illness is causing her pain and making her feel like she is hallucinating or going mad. And all this despite getting three shots of the Covid 19 vaccine.
Recently many countries like South Africa, Kenya, Denmark and many others have announced that they have removed most (if not all) Covid restrictions as they feel that people are coping well due to good vaccine uptake. With a few people like Olinda Chapel-Nkomo getting ill, could removing measures spark another wave?

]]>There is no longer a ban on large indoor gatherings such as religious services or a requirement to present a negative COVID-19 test for arriving air passengers.
Although restrictions have been lifted, Kenyans have been encouraged to adhere to Covid 19 safety measures like sanitizing and social distancing.
Face masks are no longer mandatory in public and all quarantine measures for confirmed COVID-19 cases have been halted with immediate effect. For the past month, the East African country’s COVID-19 test positivity rate has remained below 1%.
Nearly 29% of Kenyan adults are fully vaccinated, more than most countries in sub-Saharan Africa and this could have been a key motivator to removing the restrictions.
With a population of 54 million, Kenya recorded less than 35 daily COVID infections over the past week, according to government statistics. About 323,000 infections, and 5,600 deaths, have been recorded throughout the pandemic since 2020.
Kenya joins other countries like South Africa, Namibia, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Norway, Israel and El Salvador. South Africa led the pack earlier this year being the first South African country to remove their Covid 19 restrictions.
Zimbabwe is currently under a level two lockdown and has been so for months now since the Omicron variant entered the country. There has been a recent spike of new infections ranging from 200 to 700 since children returned to school. However, there haven’t been many deaths. The ministry of health claims that a total of 4 401 450 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 to date.
So why is Zimbabwe still under lockdown given the numbers? Although there is a lockdown, people pretty much do whatever they want whenever they want. There is no social distancing in public places especially in queues and in public transport.

]]>Scores of people flooded the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to welcome the prophet who was in Kenya to headline a major crusade organized by the Christ Pinnacle Embassy Ministries church.
As he approached the JKIA car park, some of the people threw themselves onto the ground and some broke into tears as they spoke in tongues. People of all ages waved flags and the entourage was complete with a marching band.
In an interview at the airport (video below) Walter Magaya said;
“If God touches you, you will never remain the same. This will mean the change of a lot of lives. So you will see it and the testimonies will be evident. Thank you”
One of the journalists on site took the chance to ask about Aguma, a drug formulated by Prophet Magaya that he claimed could cure HIV. The prophet responded;
“I didn’t say I cure HIV. I said I found a solution that may cure HIV which may need more investigation. But you know how it is with our media. We take it and write it as we wish as it may come out. So uuummm so also in Africa. If an African finds something better, the only thing that we do is we arrest them than to listen to them.”
Prophet Walter Magaya was convicted in 2019 for contravening sections of the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act through manufacturing and marketing the anti-HIV drug without first clearing with authorities. He had to pay a fine of $700US even though there were lab tests conducted to prove the statement wrong.
Besides issues surrounding the HIV cure, prophet Magaya has been on the receiving end of rape and extramarital affair allegations. There was also an incident with Bernard Chiteme, a young that was healed by the prophet and was later seen at the Mbuya Nehanda statue unveiling hurling insults at Chamisa.
These collective incidents have resulted in a decline of Zimbabwean followers as many people that put him on a spiritual pedestal have since turned their backs on the prophet’s ministry. So the huge welcome in Kenya comes as a shock to many Zimbabweans. And as they say…again…A prophet has no honour in his home town.

]]>Tirop’s Athletic History
The world generally acknowledges Kenya’s athleticism. Kenya has produced a number of world record holders including the infamous former serial world record holder Usain Bolt.
Agnes Tirop was no exception. She won bronze medals in the 10,000m at the 2017 and 2019 World Championships and finished 4th in the 5,000m at the Tokyo Games. Just last month she broke the world record for the 10 km race by 28 seconds at 30:01. Unfortunately, Tirop didn’t get to celebrate this victory for long or have the opportunity to defend her title.
Stabbed To Death
Tirop was reported missing by her father on Tuesday 12 October 2021. The police in her area went to her place and found her dead on her bed in a pool of blood. She had been stabbed in the neck as they identified what seemed to be a knife wound.
Her husband Emmanuel Rotich, was nowhere to be found following this incidence. However, on Thursday the police managed to get hold of him and he has since been thrown behind bars. He was found after ramming his car into a lorry, saying he was trying to flee the country. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations have stated that Rotich is being questioned by detectives at Changamwe police station for details on the murder.
On a lighter note in Kenya, an MP hosted a launch ceremony for the unveiling of a TV set.

]]>African Tigress aka Kenyan sista is how this particular Kenyan influencer refers to herself as. She is mostly known for her travel adventures. Not many Africans choose to be tourists in other Africa countries. Most seem to choose to explore first world countries.
Our Kenyan sister takes a different approach as she has made it her goal to travel all over Africa, and tell the African story from an African perspective. So upon arriving in Zimbabwe, the treatment she received was shocking. She talked about it in a video we shared here.
She has since released a second video on the Zimbabwean experience. Watch below:
As a tourist in Zimbabwe, the options are vast. Despite being a third world country, the country is blessed with many wonderful sights to see. There are also several low cost locations that one can choose to travel to within the country.

]]>An influencer, who refers to herself as African Tigress, decided to pay Zimbabwe a visit as a tourist. The treatment she received at the Robert Mugabe Airport was said to be disappointing. Apparently black people do not believe other black people can be tourists in an African country.
The Kenyan sister shared her laments in the video below:
The sentiments she expressed in the video that she shared with her 107 000 subscribers caught the government’s attention. Fortunately they quickly realised that some damage control needed to be done.
The Ministry of Home affairs and Cultural Heritage issued an official statement in which they apologised and promised that the situation would be investigated.
View the official statement below:
This is to you @kenyansista. Our sincere apologies. Investigations are currently underway to ascertain all the facts. Anyone caught on the wrong side of the law will be dealt with accordingly. Full statement below pic.twitter.com/jx7xh1e0Gk

The African Tigress has since accepted the apology and expressed how moved she was by it. She shared the following sentiments to her social media page:
Zimbabweans have taught my followers and I what true love is.
Thank you for the love. I truly didn't expect so much love & support to a stranger(me).
I had a special feeling about this country even before I visited. It's always good to follow my instincts. I love you all.— African Tigress (@kenyansista) September 1, 2021
This is not the first time that corrupt activities are said to have taken place at the Robert Mugabe Airport. Previously, an issue was raised concerning how US$700 000 worth of gold was able to pass airport security undetected. Corrupt dealings were quickly associated with the case.
Hopefully the investigation on this case sets precedent on how corruption will be dealt with in the future.

]]>The post World leaders propose International Covid-19 Treaty appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>The leaders stated that this pandemic is a clear sign that “nobody is safe until everyone is safe”. In addition, they spoke of the probability of another pandemic saying that it is not a question “if” another pandemic might happen but “when” it will happen.
In addition to those sentiments, it was also added that a single country can not effectively deal with the threat is such a pandemic alone. Hence, it is deemed necessary that countries work together in fighting such threats.
The 23 world leaders who are part of this global treaty proposal argue that such a treat as was formed in the wake of WW2 is needed to allow cross-boarder cooperation.
The signatories, who include the head of the World Health Organization, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, equated these times with WW2 times and vouched for a Covid-19 International treaty because: “At that time(WW2), following the devastation of two world wars, political leaders came together to forge the multilateral system.
The leaders said that similarly, countries must now “be better prepared to predict, prevent, detect, assess and effectively respond to pandemics in a highly coordinated fashion”.
The treaty is proposed to serve the purpose of establishing rigid systems that alert people of pandemics before they occur. In addition it would also facilitate an improved data sharing and vaccine and protective equipment distribution system.
The aforementioned leaders went on to say “At a time when Covid-19 has exploited our weaknesses and divisions, we must seize this opportunity and come together as a global community for peaceful co-operation that extends beyond this crisis.
If this proposal is supported by other major countries, that treaty can take several years to negotiate then ratify. Will it be ready before the next big pandemic?
Thus far the following countries have shown their support for this global treaty:
What are your thoughts on such a treaty?

]]>Israella Bushiri is reported to have been receiving lung infection treatment since February of 2021. The bereaved Prophet took to Facebook to share the following sentiments:
“Today, all those that encountered her testify that they felt a certain special aura that oozed divinity. She was a walking angel. In our darkest moments she gave us light and in our lowest moments, she lifted our spirits. I am grateful to God to have fathered an angel of such spirit and beauty. She will always be my little girl.
When I spoke to the Doctor, he highlighted that if she had not been blocked at the airport the first time she needed to travel to Kenya for medical assistance, she wouldn’t have passed on.It is very disheartening and sad, therefore, that my daughter has become a victim of the persecutions that we are facing from South Africa.However, my wife and I, bow to God’s sovereignty and as this is his will, it could have happened anyway.Today, my wife and I choose not to mourn her but to celebrate her life. I do not believe that the devil could take the life of my daughter.She was a child of God and she passed on to be with Him according to His will. We prayed and we fasted, we commanded out- and in this week, when the Lord spoke to me that it will be a week of His will- His will has taken place.Family, join me, not in mourning as those without hope but in celebrating the life of Saint Israella. She shall always be remembered and forever carried in our hearts.1 Thessalonians 4:13, “Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.”I will be addressing the general public at exactly 12.00 hrs (CAT) on ALL our official social media platforms as well as Prophetic Channel.
God bless you!”
