South Africa might be attacked by terrorists in the near future if they don’t beef up their security, these are the words of Pastor Ian Ndlovu of the Divine Kingdom Baptist Ministries.

Watch the full video below;

The man of cloth issued a warning to other nations in the SADC region, saying if they don’t take the crisis in Mozambique seriously, it’s going to be problematic for the region, though the man of God did not specify the religion, Mozambique is currently dealing with Islamic insurgents, and Rwanda has already sent soldiers with SADC also deploying soldiers there as well.

The covid-19 situation has compromised Mozambique’s efforts to fight the recurring insurgents in the country. Fortunately SADC countries were ready to pitch in and assist the struggling nation. Among these good Samaritans is Zimbabwe.

Reports that have come from Mozambique on these wars are devastating. 3000 have been killed and 800 000 more have been forcibly relocated from their as gas-rich homelands since the beginning of the conflict in 2017.

It is one of these Mozambique insurgents that even lead to the beheading of a Zimbabwean who was residing in Mozambique. The issue caused such a stir in Zimbabwe. It is probably no surprise then that Zimbabwe is very much concerned about what is going on in neighbouring Mozambique.

Ambassador Faranisi, who lead Zimbabwe in yesterday’s SADC meeting said the budget had already been approved. The ambassador shared the following remarks on this subject:

“So from now onwards, we should be in a position to see the SADC standby force being deployed to Mozambique since the council of ministers has approved the budget.”

A Zimbabwean truck driver was caught on the wrong side of the law by Mozambican authorities. He was caught transporting a ton and a half of weed (mbanje).

He had been en route from Beira to Harare, Zimbabwe. Police in Dondo district Sofala province managed seized the ton and a half of mbanje on Wednesday.

Below are the pictures of the seized truck and its load:

It would seem that crimes of such magnitude and fast becoming an expected occurrence in the country. At the beginning of the month of May 2021, another Zimbabwean was caught transporting gold amounting to USD$700 000.

Zimbabweans are assuming that this might be associated with some high ranked officials within the country. This assumption is based on the several allegations placed on such officials relating to such crimes.

One of our own lost his life in a gruesome attack by the Islamist group (ISIS) in Palma, Mozambique. Nyasha Mugwagwa, the Zimbabwean in question, was reported missing on the 24th of March following this attack on the coastal town of Palma.

Unfortunately, the search for Mugwagwa did not end as anticipated as he died four days later on the 28th. He was among the 12 that were killed during the Islamist attack. The 38 year old, Mugwagwa was reportedly buried in a mass grave along with the other 11 casualties which has made the family’s request for the government to retrieve the body a lot more difficult. The government of Zimbabwe is looking to engage ‘pathological expertise’ to identify the bodies.

The need for pathological tests was explained by Foreign secretary James Manzou in his statement saying;

“Emerging eyewitness accounts are confirming that Mr Nyasha Mugwagwa, a Zimbabwean that worked for the Remote Site Solution (RSS) company in Palma was among the 12 that were killed by the insurgents. The 12 have since been buried by the local authorities since their bodies were in a state of advanced decomposition. Under such conditions, pathological expertise is required to identify the bodies.”

Nyasha Mugwagwa’s family issued a statement confirming the death of their loved ones and stating the ongoing processes being undertaken in order to bring Nyasha back home and honour him with a decent funeral.

Nyasha is survived by his wife and 1 year old daughter. He was employed as a catering manager for Remote Site Solutions which is contracted to a multi-billion dollar gas project being build by the French’s Total and other firms.

Manzou appealed to people with relatives who are still missing to reach out to the ministry for assistance in this regard.
