According to news reports a Christ Embassy pastor is the first casualty to get arrested for flouting this new directive, after the police found 50 unvaccinated members congregating at his Glen View 3 church.

The pastor was fined $2000 and some of the members are still assisting police with investgations, whatever that means.

The issue of vaccines have divided the citizens with some advocating for it and some for whatever reason for it, it’s also worth noting that some developed countries have taken a radical approach of ditching the vaccines altogether.

The government is really trying to force its way on the church which it feels might be the biggest hindrance in the adoption of vaccines.

Israella Bushiri is reported to have been receiving lung infection treatment since February of 2021. The bereaved Prophet took to Facebook to share the following sentiments:

“Today, all those that encountered her testify that they felt a certain special aura that oozed divinity. She was a walking angel. In our darkest moments she gave us light and in our lowest moments, she lifted our spirits. I am grateful to God to have fathered an angel of such spirit and beauty. She will always be my little girl.

When I spoke to the Doctor, he highlighted that if she had not been blocked at the airport the first time she needed to travel to Kenya for medical assistance, she wouldn’t have passed on.

It is very disheartening and sad, therefore, that my daughter has become a victim of the persecutions that we are facing from South Africa.

However, my wife and I, bow to God’s sovereignty and as this is his will, it could have happened anyway.

Today, my wife and I choose not to mourn her but to celebrate her life. I do not believe that the devil could take the life of my daughter.

She was a child of God and she passed on to be with Him according to His will. We prayed and we fasted, we commanded out- and in this week, when the Lord spoke to me that it will be a week of His will- His will has taken place.

Family, join me, not in mourning as those without hope but in celebrating the life of Saint Israella. She shall always be remembered and forever carried in our hearts.

The resolve is clear. Pope Francis stated that the Catholic Church cannot bless same sex unions. Part of the basis of this decision was said to be that the it ¨is not licit¨ for the church to bless relationships that involve sex outside of marriage.

Pope Francis further clarified this with the statement,

¨The  presence in such relationships of positive elements, which are in themselves to be valued an appreciated, cannot justify these relationships and render them legitimate objects of an ecclesial blessing¨

Massioli Faggioli, a professor of religious studies at Villanova University had this to say on this verdict,

¨This is an important document because it shows how far Pope Francis is willing to go and where he wants to stop¨

But, is it really the Pope’s decision to make?

The internet was taken by storm by this decision and expressed different very heated views on the subject. Below are some sentiments expressed :

One would think that the above scripture alone would clearly show Gods view on the subject. If such acts can deter one from entering into the the Kingdom of God, then is it not a reflection of his condemnation of homosexual acts?

However, does love by definition boil down to the acceptance of every and any act? Could it be more cohesive with the Word to instead view matters is this way; God is love and that never changes, so would He then deny us of anything that would benefit us tremendously? Or does it mean that since He is love, he is no longer allowed to set standards for those that choose to worship him to abide by?

Some have argued that this is an infringement of the gay society rights . However, there is also the right to worship. Which is more important? Is this verdict really being forced on the gay society or its for those that, in this case, choose to worship in this way?

In order to reach these people with the Word of God, a statement released by Jehovah’s Witnesses stated:

“We have 243 deaf members in 21 congregations, 86  hearing who associate with the deaf to assist them countrywide, making a total of 323. There are more than 50000 Jehovah’s Witnesses in Zimbabwe, including the deaf”

The current Covid-19 pandemic had distracted efforts to reach the deaf in their homes. As a result, this Bible is aimed at reaching the deaf community with the Word of God even when the witnesses can’t go knocking at their doors. 

At the moment, just the book of Matthew has been translated and is available for use on the free JW Library Sign Language App. John Hunguka, a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses’ Zimbabwe Branch Committee  concluded the statement with the remarks:

“With the recent release of the book of Matthew, Jehovah’s Witnesses have embarked on a project to translate the entire bible into ZSL (Zimbabwe Sign Language). This will take an estimated ten years to complete”

These efforts have been driven by their belief, conveyed in a statement to the Newsday stating:

“They deserve a bible in their own language so that God’s Word can be directed to the deaf without the use of an interpreter. Jehovah’s Witnesses are happy to provide a Bible in the language of the heart to the deaf community in Zimbabwe”
