The Zulu King behind Xenophobic attacks has died

Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini, center, arrives at a Zulu gathering at a stadium in Durban, South Africa. Six people have died in anti-immigrant violence in the city in recent weeks, and another death has been reported in Johannesburg; Zwelithini is accused of inciting the attacks with incendiary comments, but says his remarks were taken out of context.

The Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini has died. King Zwelithini succumbed to diabetes at the age of 72, the palace announced the passing of the King in a statement signed by Mangosuthu Buthelezi.

For Zimbabwean’s and other Africans the Zulu King was known for influencing the Xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals which as least 5 people dead in Durban South Africa.

The body of Zulu monarch King Goodwill Zwelithini will lie in state at the royal palace in Nongoma, northern KwaZulu-Natal, for a few days while the nation mourns his passing.

The King later on denied accusations of inciting xenophobia and called the attacks vile.
