A bone of contention still exists between the Shona people and the Ndebele. The Ndebele cry out in the name of socio-political injustices. Oftentimes Shona people throwback utterances that refer to Lobengula’s said betrayal of the nation for sugar. Artists like Maskiri have even made reference to this ordeal in their music.
