The ZimParks have spoken of the overpopulation of wildlife and its encroaching into people’s territory as a cause for concern. This became clear as a Kariba woman was gored by a buffalo.
On Sunday 18 July 2021, Ms Kerry Murimbika was on her way to look for manure. She was attacked close to the town’s sewage ponds. The buffalo gored her left thigh and its horns came out on the other side of the thigh.
ZimParks spokesperson Mr Tinashe Farawo described the attack as unfortunate and a direct result of growing wildlife populations in the area. According to Farawo, this isn’t the first time such an incident has occurred.
The H-metro reported that this woman is suspected to have possibly been cheating as she had left her matrimonial home under unclear circumstances.
This is not the first animal attack that was recently reported. In another case, a local married man was bitten by a snake whilst cheating with another man’s wife.
