Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa is known for his infamous phrase, “Zimbabwe is open for business.” Unfortunately, investors do not think so.
Although relations with the UK have not been great, they were looking promising. This is because of the compensatory measures being taken to improve relations.
One such measure is the compensating of white farmers that were affected by the land reform program. More recently, President Mnangagwa has an impending trip to the UK that is said to be aimed at amending relations and bringing in investment.
Following the UK’s analysis of Zimbabwe as a business risk, it seems uncertain whether the trip to the UK will yield the anticipated results.
