Zimbabwe has certainly birthed many stars in the field of football. There are several Zimbabwean soccer stars all over the globe, and as if that’s not enough many more keep emerging in huge ways.
A 17 year old Isaac Mabaya’s talent was spotted by the infamous football team, Liverpool. Liverpool FC has been home to various famous stars such as Fernamdo Torres, Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Mohammed Sallah. The team was in the run for signing Lioneil Merci but unfortunately didn’t win him.
Isaac Mabaya managed to rise up the child junior club’s ranks. He has been a part of the Liverpool group sides since age 6.
Liverpool Club was impressed by his progress and took to their website to announce that Mabaya had signed his first professional contract. The club acknowledged his talent stating:
“his ability to sweep forward as an attacking option has been impressive, and he has played at right-back for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18s this term.”
His talent ensured that he got recognition in England when he was playing for the U15 and U16 teams.
Perhaps Mabaya will be as highly recognised as stars like Marvelous Nakamba who had the honour of meeting Prince William.
