Parents with school going children have been wondering whether or not schools will reopen. This concern follows after fears of a third wave of the covid virus.
By May 20 2021 there were reports of the new covid-19 variant, which was commonly referred to as the Indian variant. Cases reportedly increased and by the time schools closed, parents feared for the well being of their children.
The uncertainty surrounding the issue of schools reopening made people fall for WhatsApp messages stating that schools were not being reopened.
However, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Nick Mangwana deferred those claims saying that the government is still to issue an official statement on the matter.

We have taken note of messages circulating on the WhatsApp platform alleging that the President has deferred the opening of schools by two weeks. That is not correct. Should there be a change regarding the opening of schools, Govt will make a formal announcement.
