Warriors super fan Alvin Aluvah Zhakata has been stuck in Cameroon for some months now due to a series of unfortunate events. It however looks like things have not been as we seemed or expected.

Many people on social media have been advocating that money be put together to rescue Zhakata from his unfortunate predicament that has left him reportedly living on the streets of Cameroon. He apparently has been stuck there because he couldn’t settle a hotel bill and also could not board the plane until he settled the debt.

New evidence has been posted on Facebook that Collins Mnangagwa actually made efforts to save the superfan by sending him US$1 200 to solve the matter. The evidence of the Western union receipts was sent with the caption;

“I am disappointed , He is a scam artist

In February Alvin Harry Jnr Zhakata contacted me saying aripama1 akuda bag and l have to call Collins Mnangagwa for helping him and Collins send him US $1200

Mupfana asadaro uyu

Tirimusango Wenje”

Pictorial evidence of the Western Union transactions to Aluvah in February

There have also been reports that the claims he made about Samuel Eto’o paying his hospital bills in Cameroon are also not true. According to Pindula Aluvah declined the help of a well-wisher who offered to purchase the ticket directly, without giving him the money. The article also questions why the super fan reportedly has an iPhone 13 but still fails to find a means to get back home.

With all this information in the light, one wonders why Aluvah is still stuck in Cameroon. The superfan broke the silence for the first time in months and posted on Twitter saying;

“This is not to DEFEND or COVER me , it will probably accentuate & giv a clearer pic to the world, coz i know , if i leave without giving out a word, THEY will use all means to say ‘u see’ & all focus will be shifted on that end.

It is mo terrible even that @robertmarawa has the duty to TELL & RETELL this story that will be a’worldie’. Fo the avoidance of doubt, i have (conviniently) chosen @Wamagaisa (pvt) , Skhu(Gvt media) & Wellence(yuth & social media)

Titanic has sunk, taking 1500 souls with it!

That whoever wil say ‘he is seeking attention’ or remedy , does not concern me , coz for me the rubicon has been crossed, i am the fall guy (DESERVEDLY) . But im hopping one day 1 person will realize that even I wasn’t Jesus, im not really JUDAS”

This tweet has left many people baffled and failing to understand what the Warriors fan is trying to say. The only part that may be understandable is the picture of the Titanic sinking and that can be understood as a distress call. Many people have asked why he cannot just accept the shame and come home than wait for people to send him more money to spend in Cameroon.

It’s clear that Aluvah has gone to many lengths to support his favourite sport and soccer team. He has done everything from walking to hitchhiking across many countries just to support the warriors.  Yet one has to wonder if he has not taken it too far and perhaps become a nuisance in the process. Is it not high time that the super fan accepts that money plays an important role in what he can do and perhaps next time he should be more content with watching the game from the comfort of his home?

It’s been two months since the AFCON (Africa Cup Of all Nations) where super Warriors fan Alvin Aluvah Zhakata went to support the warriors.

Aluvah has been known to go to extremes to support the national team and this year was no exception as he was determined to support them in Cameroon. Aluvah chose to remain behind when the Warriors returned home.

Aluvah unfortunately got sick and had to be hospitalized. Fecafoot President Samuel Eto’o paid Aluvah’s hospital bills. Shortly after being discharged from the hospital, Aluvah got into trouble for failing to pay his hotel bills.

A Twitter user named @MahachieJosey tweeted that the superfan is currently still stranded in Cameroon and is living on the streets of Yaounde. The tweet goes on to say that Aluvah was set to return home in February but he was forced to abandon his trip after he was told at the airport that he had outstanding bills to settle

They say “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again”. In the case of Alvin Aluvah Zhakata, “Quit whilst you’re ahead” is more of an applicable statement.

Aluvah has fallen on tough times yet again and this time it’s a hotel bill. According to Soccer24, the super fan faces arrest in Cameroon after failing to settle hotel bills in Yaounde. Aluvah is expected to pay about US$700 for the duration of his stay at the Arenah Hotel.

Aluvah expressed that he didn’t have the money and resorted to fleeing from the hotel leaving his belongings behind. Soccer24 also revealed that the warrior fan was not in Cameroon on a CAF ticket. When the Zimbabwe delegation checked out after the game against Guinea, Aluvah chose to stay behind. He later collapsed and had to be hospitalized due to heart issues. Samuel Eto’o (Cameroon Football Federation president) paid Zhakata’s medical bills and he was discharged from the hospital.

This is not the first time Aluvah has fallen on hard times. He once hitch hiked from Cape Town to Cairo Egypt to support the warriors in the AFCON (Africa Cup Of All Nations) 2019. His journey began on 27 May 2019 and he arrived on Wednesday 10 July 2019. He didn’t get to see the warriors play live. The CAF (Confederation of African Football) had to pay for Aluvahs expenses, VVIP ticket and his flight home after the tournament.

In November 2020, Alvin Zhakata was hospitalized at Parirenyatwa Hospital with broken ribs and a collapsed lung after he was assaulted in Chitungwiza. He had a chest drain.

The Warriors number 1 fan seems to be a burden on other people every time he goes all out on his favorite team. We could give an A for effort and enthusiasm but his escapades are at the expense of other people. He wouldn’t be making headlines if he was able to finance himself. After this ordeal with the hotel it could do him some good to stay put and watch the game from home, that is if he finally makes it home.

Last night the Warriors team were head to head with Zambia’s Chipolopolo boys in the National Sports stadium. Unfortunately the team lost with the final score of the match being Zimbabwe 0 Zambia 2.

Zambia’s Chipolopolo boys managed to emerge the victors as a result of a poor back pass and Alec Mudimu making an error. Some warriors’ fans were disappointed and quick to blame the new coach for the team’s failure.

However, this defeat does not affect Zimbabwe in regards to the Afcon finals in Cameroon. This is because Zimbabwe defeat Botswana in their previous Afcon qualifiers match and accumulated 8 points. Resultantly, there was nothing Zambia, who entered this match with just 4 points, could do to take Zimbabwe’s place in Cameroon.

On the other hand, our neighboring South African team, Bafana Bafana, lost to Sudan yesterday and therefore will not be representing Southern Africa in Cameroon along with Zimbabwe’s Warriors.

The 2nd from last warriors’ AFCON qualifying match took place last night in Botswana. Zimbabwe has qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations finals with one more match to go!

Our warriors managed to beat Botswana with a score of 1-0 on the Botswana team’s own turf leaving Zimbabwe at 8 points. The match took place at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown. The winning goal was scored by Perfect Chikwende. This took place after a series of troubles. For starters some of the players that were needed to complete the warriors team were still stuck in Australia.

Wilson Mutekede who is the technical advisor to ZIFA was ecstatic over this victory and is certain Zimbabweans were too. He shared the following statements:

“We are very happy about what the Warriors did here and we believe that Zimbabweans are happy too.”

CAPS United FC, light-heartedly took to their twitter to say that the victory did not come as a surprise given the USD hard currency bought bus that Caps loaned them.

Less pressure is now on Zimbabwe as they face the final qualifying match against Zambia next week at the National Sports Stadium. As a result of their great performance Zambia will not be able to catch up with Zimbabwe as they have only 4 points. Nonetheless, the warriors are expected to play well against Zambia in the coming match.

Other other hand, Algeria leads Zimbabwe with 3 points as they managed to settle at 11 points after their 3-3 draw with Zambia.

The warriors performance came as a great relief to their coach, Zdravko Logarusic, as he was being criticised over the Warriors’ disastrous performance in Chan 2021 where they lost all three matches.

Serious preparations for the AFCON finals in Cameroon will soon be underway to avoid the embarrassment of  the last tournament in Egypt  were they only managed to accumulate  just 1 point from three matches.

This Nations Cup qualification marks the fifth for the Warriors as they also qualified in the years 2004, 2006, 2017 and 2019.

Warriors captain Knowledge Musona, who is also popularly known as the smiling assassin arrived in Harare yesterday.

The widely recognized soccer star who’s skills caught the attention of CAF as they showcased him in action on their twitter page, is currently preparing for two upcoming matches.

These impending aforementioned matches, are the African Cup of Nations qualifying ties against Botswana and Zambia set for this Thursday and next Monday.

Zimbabwe, which is currently 2nd in group H, takes on Botswana on Thursday away before hosting Zambia at the National Sports Stadium four days later in Group H.

The remaining two matches will determine which of the three nation will grab the remaining qualification slot.

Knowledge Musona, the Belgium-based star landed at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport yesterday just after midday and joined the rest of the Warriors team.

Orlando Pirates’ Terrence Dzvukamanja and Al Hilal’s Last Jesi also arrived yesterday. Spain-based goalkeeper Martin Mapisa is expected to fly in today.

Arrangements are being made by ZIFA to fly in two more members of the team, namely, France-based duo of Tino Kadewere and Marshal Munetsi in time for these crucial AFCON ties.

Zambia are currently leading Group H with three points on their tally while Botswana are third with four points.

Defending African champions Algeria have already qualified for the AFCON finals after accumulating 10 points.
