The post Will Free Education Be Possible By 2023 As Promised By President Mnangagwa? appeared first on Provoker Magazine.
]]>Due to the effects of Covid 19, many children have not been learning and some have even had to drop out of school. The pandemic took a toll on both the education system and the parents of schoolgoers.
Schools have been forced to adapt to e-learning and that is if they even have the resources to deliver. In the event that schools were able to deliver, many students could not afford the facility.
The President spoke about the number of school dropouts being the major motivator towards the decision to make education free for primary schools. He also said all children will receive tablets for e-learning purposes funded by the government.
While this is a great cause, how realistic is the 2023 target? As it stands government is failing to pay teachers well. The past couple of months has been spent negotiating with teachers to go to work even though the civil servants feel that their salaries are way below what they deserve.
How will the government manage to make extra funds available for running the schools without students paying school fees? How will it also buy tablets for students if it cannot buy tablets for teachers? We are already 3 months into the year 2022. This leaves the president 9 months to deliver on this promise.
Will the government in the next nine months manage to adjust teachers’ salaries and make a budget available to maintain schools without the need for school fees payments by parents…and also buy each primary scholar textbooks and a tablet? It seems like a mammoth task and the government will need a mammoth strategy to match.

]]>Now that we are on the same page with regards to what the ICC is, let’s talk about an issue that has stirred some emotions on social media. A particular, Mark Patrick Themann took to social media to encourage people to sign a petition to have Zimbabwe’s president tried by the ICC.

The views on this matter are varied. Zimbabweans in the Matebeleland seem to support the idea behind this petition. They have been clear about their views with regards to the country’s leadership. These views have even lead them to act in a way that other nationals deem as sabotaging the 2023 election results.
It almost goes without question that the white people that were largely affected by the change in regime might rally behind this. The leadership issue is still very much of a touchy subject for them. Several years after independence and we still find those that were affected by policies such as the land reform program, cried out to be compensated.
Other citizens were downright displeased by this move. View some of their comments below:

However, one would wonder whether this petition isn’t jumping the bullet too soon. This view is based on some of the measures being put in place to amend past mistakes. They include the compensation that has already begun to be paid to white farmers.
The President is also said to preparing for a trip to the UK. The trip is said to be aimed at amending the sour relations between the nation. Perhaps the petition won’t be necessary after all.

]]>Nonetheless, Mnangagwa is very hopeful. He broke down the different pillars on which the economy is to develop even further amidst sanctions.
Watch the video below:
Although it seems that the nation is not very worried about sanctions and will not be bullied by America and its counterparts, the actions seem to suggest otherwise. The government has even begun compensating the white farmers they removed on their land. One of the reasons for this is said to be an attempt at restoring relations with the western world.

One of the measures taken to ensure that this goal is attainable, is the Hwange Power Station Expansion. The project was launched in 2018 by President Mnangagwa. It is expected to add 600MW on the national grid.
President Mnangagwa said the Second Republic was committed to support Zesa Holdings through the Hwange Power Station Expansion Project, coupled with the ongoing resourcing and recapitalisation of Zesa Enterprises (ZENT), to ensure adequate supply of transformers and other associated requirements.

]]>In sight of the upcoming 2023 elections, the country’s President seems to be making some very interesting moves. One of these moves has been to keep various prophets close to him.
He started by fraternising with Prophet Uerbert Angel who has thus far made some noteworthy moves. Next on the list was Java who recently shared a video of himself and the president. In short, let’s just say he gave the President his seal of approval and it was seen by over 1 million followers and non-followers of Java.

With these reports in sight, some have started to believe a foreign prophet who aired his view on Prophet Java and Prophet Uebert being used.

]]>As the 2023 elections draw closer, the President has been actively involving Prophets in his strategy. In March, Prophet Uebert Angel for instance, was appointed Presidential Envoy and Ambassador at Large. He has already been making some big strides within that role.
In May, Prophet Passion Java shared a video of himself with the President. These interactions with Prophets by Mnangagwa has been judged disapprovingly by Prophets outside the country.

Critics have also referred to the recent distribution of brand new vehicles to traditional chiefs as one of the other moves that might hint to the victory of Zanu PF in the 2023 elections. We covered that matter in a previous article.

]]>However, the way in which these event have played out does not sit well with many citizens. Cyclone Idai took place in 2019 and survivors are still struggling. Some of their strife has been blamed on squabbles between the government and Econet Wireless. Read more on that here. Fortunately, South Africa has chirped in with 272 tonnes of maize meal for this disadvantaged population.
The 272 out of 5625 tonnes received by President Mnangagwa is said to be the first batch expected to come from South Africa. Perhaps this event would have been viewed favourably had it not coincided with the President’s splurge on luxury vehicles for traditional chiefs. His aim is of distributing vehicles to all 286 chiefs in the country. This week he has given away 18 cars as part of the fourth batch of cars for Zimbabwe’s chiefs.
Zimbabweans are questioning whether the amount used for such cars could not have covered the cost of maize for the Idai victims such that the nation had to wait for donations.
View pictures of the President receiving donations:

Not long after the event pictured above, the President was captured distributing cars to Traditional Chiefs. Some Zimbabweans have called this a misplacement of priorities. However, others have commented that these are exactly the moves that almost guarantee a landslide victory for Zanu PF in the 2023 elections.
